The Utah prospects:
https://twitter.com/user/status/2029331557589385591

Star probabilities according to Bader:
Duda 51% (That seems a bit too high)
Desnoyers 38%
Iginla 12%
Beaudoin 9%
But 8%
Moroz 5%

Does this mean Hunter is staying on the Wranglers the rest of the season?

If Tij isn't part of the deal, it don't Maata who we get back

Personally I am not a fan of Beaudoin, I think he is a 3rd line C in the making.

Wouldn't mind moving one of Hanley, Maatta, or Pachal
We’d just end up getting another d man bac and having to trade him too.

Hoping we still move Hanley or Pachal. Also feel like Maatta can be press box fodder as Nick Desimone is higher than him on the Utah depth chart

That’s dobber’s read, too.

High floor, low ceiling. Not super exciting.

Hoping Matta being included means the return is extra good as he is definitely a cap dump at this point. Preference would be that taking him back means the quality of the prospect improves rather than just adding 4th/3rd round picks.

Maatta being included is likely to facilitate the trade to begin with. Can't imagine it will add any value to the trade.

Maatta was a healthy scratch for 21 consecutive games before the Olympics; Utah should pay for taking that cap dump

Kind of like Backlund?

A good team needs depth at C, including a good defensive C. Beaudoin can definitely be that.

Maatta likely a form of salary retention on Weegar.

I guess Maata is the cap dump then and this shouldnt eat our retention slot. Retaining for 5? years would be crazy.

It absolutely should.

The guy is being paid 3.5M for another two seasons and has been a healthy scratch..
