Remember when Regehr was traded to Buffalo? It got leaked before Regehr waived his NMC. The owner flew to see him in Sask on the lake and all. I always thought that Feaster was pulling a slime-ball move putting all the pressure on Regehr to waive. Turns out, I was completely wrong.
It wasn't all that long ago that I found out that Regehr's agent was the one that leaked it - with Regehr's blessing. Regehr didn't want to go to Buffalo - at least not at first. Feaster kept insisting it was only Buffalo, and nobody else. Regehr suggested San Jose, and Feaster said "only Buffalo". So Regehr and his agent decided to leak it and see if other teams came calling. With how well Pegula treated Regehr, he ended up deciding to waive to go.
So who knows? Maybe Conroy leaked it and is putting the screws to Weegar. Maybe Utah is in trying to make him waive. Maybe it is simply Weegar seeing if he can get some different teams involved and create some choice in the matter. We don't know who leaked it, so it is simply better not to assume anything and make up our minds about it, and paint someone in a certain light because of nothing but an assumption at this point (like I wrongly did with Feaster).
