Only if you can retain on both of them and Calgary can't retain on both right now, so no they aren't at peak value right now.

It is also comical at this point how we keep having the worst timing for trades.
We are a seller 2 years ago at the deadline... buyers market.
We decide to not sell last year to try to sneak into playoffs... sellers market.
Now we are looking to sell this year... buyers market.

Darren Dreger will be on Barn Burner this morning at about 10:15 AM, I imagine. The show starts at 10:10 AM. Hopefully, we'll get Dreger's perspective on the Flames' situation.

And "great offer" is pretty subjective. Remember the LA "great offer" (for Andersson I think) which turned out to be pretty meh, and not the type of return that Calgary needs?

Something to complain about...
This will be the fourth time I say this but who knows if the Flames had a good offer from a team Kadri or Coleman would waive for

I'm not even worried.
Conroy has one, maybe two bad moves in his 3 years as GM.
Keep calm and have Conniefidence.

I am suggesting that it's hypocritical for some people to simultaneously claim that the trades they have made are evidence of purposeful, direction and rebuild, while also suggesting that it is illogical to desire or state that not trading two of our primary aging veterans by this deadline (friday) when everyone in media is saying there's a market to trade them is a failure of that direction.
And Bingo, I wasn't replying to you personally, just making a general comment around the same time you were posting.

They may or may not be at peak. But what the buyers have available to pay now versus offseason or the deadline is different too. Offseason the cap is not as big of an issue, and there's no fear of messing with chemistry heading into the POs.

I would argue if the Flames don't make at least a couple moves to ship out players like Coleman, Kadri, Whitecloud etc this week, this is just more of the one toe in the water stuff from the organization that we've seen for years.
You can argue that if the quality of return isn't there you don't make a deal and wait until the draft, but this team needs a top 3-4 pick this year, and it needs it very badly. It would be an abject failure to hold onto coveted assets and end up drafting 8-10th overall this year when it has been so crystal clear what this team is for months at the expense of holding out for more that may not even materialize given the players are getting older and teams are less likely to pursue vets like this when they don't know what they are next season.

Sharks have put in an offer on Nemec. Offer includes a forward and prospect. Lots of competition on him.

Same with draft lotteries and quality of draft years. At this point I just always expect it to be like this.

a. if the return isn't there a trade for trade's sake is just panic mode, and dumb.
b. there's zero guarantee that the Flames move higher in the draft by trading any of those three. There's no guarantee they won't move higher in the draft with those three.
c. Top 3 in this draft is nowhere near a critical requirement. There are two very good wingers at the top and a bunch of good but not spectacular players 4-10.

Insider trading:
https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/2026/03...gton-and-more/
there is a chance that Bobrovsky and/or Bingington are moved before deadline
Panthers will investigate what re-signing Bobrovsky will look like
if the extension is too much, they will listen
not a full on dump for either guys but teams are calling
Blues were asking for 4 pieces from Sabres for Thomas including a roster player that the Sabres were not willing to give up
Blues not in a hurry to move Thomas. Armstrong is fishing for a huge return.
Kekalinen more focused on a defenceman right now. Faulk or Parayko but trade protection could complicate things.
some believed that the Garland trade would be pushed over the line on Tuesday night but that didn't happen
interest from Bruins and Islanders
Leafs leaning towards trading pending UFAs McMann and Laughton
Treliving is struggling to get legitimate offers
there are managers that believe McMann should fetch a 1st but that hasn't been realized yet

I think it’s best for the team to move on now and Conroy can take any reasonable pics and be happy.

Who really are the youngsters knocking on the door right now for NHL playing time?
As for Bingo's point, I definitely agree they are in a rebuild. It's obvious. But personally I'm not overly excited if the team goes into next season again with most of the premium ice time going to the team's oldest players. If you're going to lose, I'd rather lose with mostly young players in those spots. The sooner you get draft picks and prospects into the organization, the better IMO.
I guess the above two points are a little contradictory but I'd rather just force the ice time to these players and bite the bullet. I'm not so convinced that destroys the long term culture. Losing is losing.

Yes, but he's not exactly a prospect - he's at 29 games this season. He's been pretty average IMO.
