One of my all time favourite authors. Best sci-fi author of all time in my opinion, and his other stuff is great too. I reread Illium and Olympus last year and they’re still great.
Very sad.
He was a master of horror as well. Summer of Night and the Terror are fantastic. The AMC treatment of the latter was great.
Bradley Cooper has had the rights to make a streaming show of Hyperion for a while now, but nothing has come of it.

I didn't know where to put this, he isn't dead, but it sounds like its a mere matter of time...

Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell revealed that he’s been diagnosed with cancer on Monday.
The 67-year-old actor shared the news on social media with his fans, telling them that his cancer was “treatable” but not “curable.”
“Hi folks, these days, when someone is having a health issue, it’s referred to as an ‘opportunity,’ so let’s go with that — I’m having one of those. It’s also called a type of cancer that’s ‘treatable,’ not ‘curable.’ I apologize if that’s a shock – it was to me too,” Campbell wrote in a post on X.
I’m a big Bruce Campbell fan - the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness stuff is legendary. I wrote him an email in the late 90’s from the college computer lab asking about a possible new Army of Darkness movie and he actually wrote me back. Always seemed like a really good dude.

Love Bruce Campbell, his role on Hercules/Xena as Autolycus was awesome, not to mention all the other things he's done. Still wish Brisco County Jr had gone on longer

That's really cool.
I have been going to Fan Expos for years and Bruce Campbell was at one probably like 10 years ago, just doing the normal autograph signing thing. I don't partake in that part myself, but I do like to walk by and just get a glimpse of the people. Most of the time you can tell that the celebrities are just there to put in their time, but Bruce Campbell was one of those guys you could tell loved doing it and chatting with the fans. The line up was huge and I think a big part of that was because he was taking his time with each person.
