I was just about to say that. 19 year old kid even being in the conversation as team MVP is infinitely more significant than " the best player in the world has been the best player on the team"

Canada's bottom 6 really needs to get going.
Jarvis, Reinhart, Marchand are not contributing much of anything...which isn't that surprising as they weren't great at 4 nations either.
At least Hagel, Horvat, and Wilson provide energy at times and some physicality.
They need to remember they are all stars in their own right and stop worrying abut filling roles on this team.

Did the commentators call out the 6 Czech players? That's crazy. Wasn't a bad change, they just had an extra dude out there.

Bennett needs to be in next game. I would sit Marchy, I didn't even notice him playing hardly. Hopefully Morrisey is back too. I think we miss his puck moving a ton.

All cope.
I kind of wish we had landed him because he was still young enough.
But it wasn't realistic when Vegas exists.

Marner had an NMC, given to him by Dubas. Treliving tried to trade him and Marner blocked it.
Marner wanted to go to UFA, and he would have walked no matter who the GM was.

Switzerland and Slovakia could be in the semis. Not many people had that at the start of the tourney.

This is the more relevant point imo. They are all game breakers in their own right, no need to go oiler-brained and wait for Mcdavid to do something. Which it felt like for stretches this game.
Be smart and be a team obviously, but if your (likely) on of the best players on your NHL squad you definitely have it in you do do it here too.

If you are asking about the US feed--nope, nothing. The play-by-play (TJ Oshie and Brendan Burke) was just as bad as the officiating.

Celebrini - McDavid - Marner
Horvat - MacKinnon - Wilson
Hagel - Suzuki - Stone
Marchand - Bennett - Reinhart
Jarvis
I'd go with that next game for lines if Crosby is out.
Mackinnon needs some more size and speed to play with, Horvat and Wilson both bring that.
Hagel - Suzuki - Stone is a defensively responsible line that is good on the cycle and will hold possession.
Put the Florida guys together and see if they can find some chemistry and pretend like they are playing in the playoffs.

Honestly, the Slovaks being the red headed step child of the Czechs and the Czechs are out and the Slovaks are in the semis is a pretty big deal for them I'd imagine.

Biggest losers of the day?
Brad Treliving and Maple Leaf fans.
...so it's a good day.
Good on Marner.

And then Bieksa said "I don't smoke but I'll have with with you after that!"
