Colleague of mine who is an Oiler fan texts “how fun is it to cheer for McDavid”. Said the same exact thing during the 4 nations last year.

Really don't like loading up a line with McDavid and MacKinnon. They both need to be able to win their own minutes. I did think Mack needed new linemates.

Mackinnon set up 2 goals for McDavid and one for Celebrini.

McDavid will demand a trade to Colorado so he can play with his Olympic buddy and the Oilers will get a crappy return because he won't agree to go anywhere else. The Avs will have the cap space after Makar signs with the Flames as a UFA.

Honestly not really. He hasn't been particularly impactful. Need more guys to step up into "notice him whenever he's out there" territory.

I know we have to hate the guy because he's an Oiler but those guys aren't the same tier TBH.
I hope one day we can once again say we are cheering for a top 5 player in the NHL on the Flames, and ideally a top center.
Flames have never had a center like McDavid, Crobsy, or Mackinnon, and it's fun to have those types of guys on your team.
In fact we've barely ever had a guy we can cheer for that we can consider a top 5 player in the NHL since Iggy, and that was fun for that stretch between 01-02 and 07-08 where he was a top 5 player in the NHL and worth the price of admission alone on some nights.

I don't like McDavid as a player. He's playing a better game during these olympics however, so I can't criticize him, but I'll never cheer for him. I wasn't a big fan of Gaudreau either, so it's not just because he's an Oiler, I just don't like him.
