You need veterans on defense mire than any other position, to help the rookies. Whitecloud is also a good locker room and media guy. He's pretty perfect for the Flames right now.

Bahl will be a vet by the time the Flames will be competing. They can trade Whitecloud and Weegar and be fine imo.

I think you *should* start next season with 1 of Weegar OR Whitecloud (not both). The remainder of the 2 can be dealt at the deadline next year or year after if more sheltering or even PK mins on the right side need to be eaten up by someone not names Zayne or Hunter.

Based on what exactly...again, nobody with that high of knowledge is running to CP to tell us. Its speculation, speculation is fun...he should continue to post it. I can also gurantee you the Sharks are looking at names beyond the master list.

A master list wasn't mentioned, he said they are some of the players the Sharks are looking at. I don't think any insider is more credible than the next unless their sources have been verified, which I believe hasn't been the process here for many years.

Agreed. I don't think they need to trade both this season but I also don't think they need to have Whitecloud in the long term plans. He is way easier to trade so I could see them flipping Weegar first if they find the right trade

Go look up his post history. He has explained that he is connected to the Sharks office. Just because you missed it doesn't mean you should take shots or try to damper his posting.

You also shouldn't expect people to let you get away with being a negative contributor when he is being a positive contributor, even if he has "oil" in the name. It is 100% easier for you to ignore his posts than for other people to ignore yours when your posts may discourage good conversation.

In fact, anyone signed could even be flipped at the deadline.

Matt Grzelcyk signed on Oct 5 for $1M coming off a 40 point season. He has been good for the Hawks this year.

I would keep Whitecloud if the return isn't great, but if someone wants to pay up then Conroy can replace him.

Having low impact and low character vets, paired with young defensemen, is how you end up with Edmonton defense. On forward, you need one line of vets to do the heavy lifting, and the rest can be a daycare. I'm just more inclined to keep the defense and trade forwards.

That said, overpay is overpay.

He can post all he likes..just saying take it with a grain of salt like any other rumor. I think most GMs keep things under wraps pretty well.

Didn't Craig Conroy complain that Brad Treliving often kept his AGMs out of the loop?

If anyone was getting fed information directly from a GM, I would expect that GM would not want you posting it online.

Some sources seem to have some inside knowledge, but I doubt they have all the information. Seems most insiders start to have more accurate knowledge once a deal gets close.

You must understand the vast difference between him saying they are not interested in Kadri (which could be true) v. saying they only have interest in the players he posted.

What's actually interesting is that the Sharks have a ton of young forward talent and a D core of aging has-beens. They need top D its obvious. They are potentially a good trade partner with Flames at some point, we could use a top center, and have more RD depth than we can ice.
