Nah, he can play hockey well, so that helps a team win. There are lots of players who I think are not great people, and who are selfish players, but who help their teams by playing well. Draisaitl, for example.
Part of leadership is your results on the ice though. No one gets to that level by resting on their laurels, his work ethic is clearly something young players will look up to and try to emulate at this point in his career.

What work ethic are you referring to? He’s not known for coming into camp in shape or anything like that. Just giving effort on the ice? That to me is a bare minimum. Barkov is who I like in this area on that team. He’s a total pro.

The guy plays till his body is completely broken down. Both cup runs and the 4 Nations he was barely functioning, Brady I think had to dress him during the 24 Cup run.
And yes, he was a senior leader for two cups. Barkov relied upon Tkachuk to help get them the two championships, Maurice constantly spoke of how important he was to the group. To suggest he put in the "bare minimum" of effort is frankly absurd, and shows your bias.

He is often injured, true, and often because he makes dumb showboating decisions to get into staged fights.
My bias? It’s my opinion based on his actions. WTF was Maurice going to say?
Back on topic, I sure hope the Panthers make the playoffs if the Oilers make the playoffs. I don't trust any teams in the West or the East other than the Panthers, when the refs starts gifting the Oilers PPs after PPs once they look like they're about to lose the game.

Location: Wondering when # became hashtag and not a number sign.

I dont think there is much of a chance they make it myself...its not the 4 pt gap to WC2 but the 5 teams they have to climb over....almost impossible to have them all lose enough and Fla. win enough all at the same time.

Gio, I agree with you that Tkachuk is a huge, misguided asshat, but his team, including the euros, dressed in trump suits for their White House appearance. That comes from him.
He must be a pretty good locker guy to compel people whose countries are being threatened and constantly being insulted by the leader he loves for them to ignore that by their White House uniform.
Oh I'm sorry. Have you guys not met "Kucherov the Piece of ?"
I mean... all the pearl-clutching going on, with fake bewliderment at how someone could possibly want to take a run at the guy... just figured I'd introduce some of you to him.
The Battle of Florida is a go.
