You also questioned his character and how well he's liked in the Florida room, which is nonsense really.

Coping because we no longer have the star player we drafted. Questioning his character and acting like you're in the room is childish as well. You're just making things up.

I was talking about him in Calgary. And I know what that was like. I suspect his act hasn't gotten much more popular.

Acting like you're in the room. There you go into the weeds with your semantics again. Cant avoid it. It was clear what I was referring to

I don't think they will. If Barkov was coming back after the Olympics maybe they have an outside shot. Getting to three Consecutive cups in a 32 team league is really hard to do. The 16 teams in the playoffs these days are all good teams. So it's a lot tougher to make the playoffs now than it was in a 21 team league 45 years ago, all series are best of 7.
I'd love to see them fall flat on their face. But they'll be back as a really strong and motivated team next year.

They are going to make the playoffs. It's a strong franchise with depth.

That makes zero difference whatsoever. All that matters is they have 61 points with 25 games remaining, and are currently 8 points out of the last WC spot.
If you use the 96 point mark, they need to play at a .700 pace to close out the season. Can it happen? Sure. They just have to play at a pace that only 2 teams in the NHL have played at this season. Being a strong franchise with depth doesn't change the math. Panthers miss.

And 96 pts probably won't do it this year. BOS is currently in 8th and they are on a 99 pt pace
For FLA to get to 100 pts, they would need to go 17 -3 - 5

Yep Oilers are on pace for just under 92 points. They are coming off an 8 game homestand where 5 of the teams played the night before and almost all non playoff teams. They were .500 on that after a couple miracle comebacks and then lost yo thr Flames. They are on the bubble.

Would like to see the Panthers heal up and go for it again to be honest, we haven't had a three-peat since the Islanders who won four in a four, preceded by the Canadians who won four of their own. Would be pretty special to watch, even the much lauded 80s Oiler didn't do that.
This would be the 4th straight cup appearance by Florida if they did however, that's an insane amount of hockey for those guys.

The guy came in and single-handledly changed the culture of the franchise overnight into what they are today.
Barkov welcomed him into the room with open arms saying how excited he was about what Chucky brought into the room. The two of them became very close friends right from the start and still are today.
Bennett and Chucky are best friends - brothers, even. That's not even a question.
Maurice has said that literally everything good that has happened to the team strarted from the moment Tkachuk walked in their dressing room.
Marshy and Tkachuck went from whatever they were before to immediate fast-friends and both Chucky and Sam were the ones that really helped bridge the gap over the first few post-trade days that saw Marshy move from hated-rival to respected/loved core member and voice in the room.
Tkachuck is a strong personality that can take over a room, but the room has to either welcome it and adapt to it or shut it out. The Flames' leadership shut it out, the Panthers' leadership welcomed it and let it become their identity.
You're one of the people that would shut a personality like his out and not let it in the room. There's nothing wrong with that. The Flames are like that too. However, just becuse it doesn't work for you it doesn't mean it doesn't work at all. Tkachuck wins championships. He's done it at every level he's played at. He's a leader and he knows/does what it takes to win.
Just move on, man. There's no need to try to convince people of a world that doesn't actually exist just because you don't like it.
Ps. How many stories do you have to hear about how good Tkachuk is in the room and how great he is with everyone from equipment staff to front office staff to bus drivers, ticket agents, etc etc. He's an ####### to the other team on the ice, but a highly respected person within his own organization behind closed doors.

Not quite single-handedly. Maurice was hired as coach in the same offseason.

So reading between the lines, you think they won two cups in spite of what Tkachuk brings, not because of it?

Their goalie also went from 10M backup they were trying to pay to move to a top 3-5 goalie in the league.
He is back to suck mode now and it makes it tough to win.

Nah, he can play hockey well, so that helps a team win. There are lots of players who I think are not great people, and who are selfish players, but who help their teams by playing well. Draisaitl, for example.
