Same hip that was repaired? Or were both? Can't recall.
I do wonder if this might be it for him.

Damn. Like I said before, I really think he had a remarkable goalie career timeline ahead of him with his consistent level of play when healthy. Feel bad for him.

They have also informed his agent to look for trades. Hard to gauge his worth after hip surgery. I can't imagine it's very high and they may be better off seeing if he can come back and play to a high level to which they can flip him.

Both were done. Up until now, his hips have been more or less fine but I wonder if all the time off and not being able to keep them properly game ready undid him.
Wait and see to how he comes back, if he comes back. There have definitely been rumours he might call it, but some of that may be frustration from the player talking.

Boy, this unfortunate injury filled career for Demko clearly vindicates the Flames' pick of Mason McDonald and his *checks notes* 0 NHL games played.
I guess be happy you got that much out of him.

In the end, he is a vezina calibre goalie when he's healthy but he will never play more than 40 games in a regular season. He just can't handle it. The pick was good. He's not written off yet, but the sun's getting low if he can't come back and stay healthy... if he chooses to come back.

The goalie the Flames took 2 picks before Demko is never hurt. Point Flames.

Yep. In fact he's never let in a goal at the NHL level.

Brad would trade him to Montreal along with a convoluted 1st round pick

Yes, isn't it shocking that teams arent including 1st round picks for a 1 year cap dump. BT was such a visionary.

Apples and oranges...at the time it was a flat covid cap and nobody had space except the Habs because Price retired. Also, the move netted Kadri who might be worth more than a first now.
