I knew the fancy stats people loved that Wyttenbach pick, but I'm guessing they're even stunned by the season he's having. Unreal stuff.

I wonder if he turns pro after this season? That would be a crazy turn of events for a guy who was planning on going back to the USHL at the draft.

NCAA updates are always a bit behind, but his 2 point night should put him into 2nd in NCAA scoring.
Not too bad for a 5th round pick.

It will be interesting to see. A couple notes from his last interview for anyone that missed...
- He had knee surgery last summer and planned to go back to USHL but Flames pushed him to jump to NCAA.
- He's very close with Coronato, having known each other for almost 10 years. Wyttenbach was telling Coronato to pick it up at the start of the year because Wytt had him on his fantasy team. He looks at him as a role model.
- Areas of focus are defense, power skating and adding strength. Him and Coronato were working with Fujita who stays in regular contact with Wyttenbach. Next offseason will be solely focused on skating and strength as he won't have to deal with recovering from surgery
- His coach in Quinnipiac compliments his work ethic and willinging to put in the effort. He indicates that they have an elite strength program that they will focus on for a couple years, so it seems the current plan is another NCAA year but that could always change.
Quote:
|
"He has an elite brain and drive to get better so he does the work to be successful. It's not really a surprise when he has success because he does the work to earn it."

"Probably the biggest thing he needs to keep working on is physically. He’s still a ways away from playing in the NHL. We have a great strength coach. I would say it’s an elite strength program. It’s one of the best things we do at Quinnipiac. So we’ll put some muscle on him over the next few years and he has a great chance to play in the NHL one day.”
|
He is gonna be a player.
Quote:
|
“Right now you can say that [I should have went earlier], but three months ago nobody would argue me being a fifth-rounder. It’s one of those things where it happened, and I’m hoping that one day I can make Calgary look pretty good for taking me in the fifth round.”
