Dog owners that don't pick up their dog's #### piss me off. I just don't understand how they can be so ignorant. Someone left a bunch of dog #### on the Peace Bridge a few days ago and now it's frozen and rolling around in the bike lane. I know it's come up before, and even the dogs themselves in Sliver's eyes, but man what kind of inconsiderate ####### do you have to be to just leave your dog's #### on the sidewalk?

I saw a plate last week with WTF as the 1st 3 letters. lol

I'm with Koodo and just checked if it's still there and yup, it's still an easy option to change your number online with no shortage of 403 options.

Just grabbed a new 403 for myself in November.

Where does that leave us with "Y" plates? Pure, heathen, or mixed breed?

Y was considered a vowel to the license plate creators, therefore they are heathens and can be cast out.

Are you even a Calgarian if you have a seven digit license plate and a 587 area code number?

I answer my work phone and so does my team because we're adults and work. Screening calls and making arbitrary rules that you won't answer the phone unless you know them is batsht crazy. Hopefully you're self employed. If you work for somebody and you're ignoring work calls that's madness to me.
Hilarious. Not answering calls I don't recognize has zero impact on my ability to work and do my job. I'm not in sales, I don't report to clients. Anyone who has anything of importance to discuss or an existing relationship with me is smart enough to leave a message or send an email if I miss their call or ignore it for a multitude of reasons. (In a meeting, on a call, working on an issue, taking a sh1t, etc.)

We are in the era of email and Microsoft Teams. The volume of Actual relevant calls I receive is about 25%.

But feel free to pass further judgement.

Sales was an example. I also said vendors and clients, but I meant everything/everyone. If someone has my staff members' phone number I expect them to answer the phone I'm paying for during the work day so we can be responsive.

It would be a discussion of with me looking at you like you were out of your mind if you told me you had this arbitrary rule that nobody else knows or follows that a message must be left before you'll speak to them. Guy. It's so weird how you're operating.

And if you are getting a huge volume of nonsense calls, we could talk about changing your number. Ignoring colleagues/stakeholders is just not a reasonable option.

Edit to add: I'm not talking about answering your phone when you're in the can or in a meeting, obs. That's moving the goalposts. I'm just talking about you not answering numbers you don't know because you're afraid of what's on the other end. That's low effort.

I can’t tell you how many financial planners would try to cold call me every day at work. Some had clever tricks to get through reception.

If they can get past my office manager I'm always impressed. That's not easy to do.

It's not an arbitrary rule. It's the simple fact of if I don't know your number I'm likely not answering. Nowhere did I say I'm purposly ignoring colleagues/stakeholders/vendors. I said if I do for a multitude of reasons, they're smart enough to leave a VM or send an email. Sales calls don't do that. I'm not afraid, you're just not worth my time because you can dial my number 5 days a week but not take an additional 30-60 seconds to leave me a message to tell me why. Low. Effort.

Trying to make this into more than what it is, just because you're in small business and operate differently, is a take. But not unexpected with you.

The amount of AI slop that's just everywhere now is exhausting.

It's especially bad on social media with Canadian news content being banned on Instagram and Facebook, so instead the #### that slips through is just AI nonsense or half-truths.

The number of times I've been sent AI slop from my mom who thinks it's real...

I used to do that. One though i didn't take when i saw it turned out to be the nursing home telling me my dad was dying and could have rushed over and talked to him one final time. I have to answer calls now.next call i did take from that number was a filipino lady just repeating 'he not breathing'.

Whoever customer service person executive who devised the 'chat feature' to resolve concerns to eliminate phone calls needs to have their face banged by a donkey with AIDS.

Had to do my annual code of conduct/ethics training yesterday and instead of watching the usual amateurs acting out scenarios, it was all generated by AI. It was awful. Goddamn smooth skinned, eyeball roaming freaks everywhere.
