Okay. Basic woman stuff. Our cycles are 28 days. Consider day 1 the first day of her period. 14 days after her period starts, she is at her most fertile. This is NOT the only time she can get pregnant. She can get pregnant the moment she ovulates - usually between days 12 and 16. If her cycle is not 28 days exactly and most women are not bang on this cycle, her ovulation will vary. For example, if her cycle is 30 days, she can get pregnant usually between day 13 to 17.
You can tell if she is pregnant by going to the doctor and having him do a pregnancy test. A doctors lab can usually tell about 4 days before her menstruation is to begin again.

If you are both comfortabe with this method, then so be it. But she must be prepared for the morning after pill...which will make her puke violently and be sick for awhile. All the while thinking of way's to snip you!!!

It should also be noted that because you've been sexually active with her without using a reliable method of birth control, no matter whether you go to a free health clinic or a walk in clinic, they will do a pregnancy test before prescribing a birth control method or giving you a sample. Birth control will effect the baby if there is one, so they'll want to make sure everything is good to go.
Even if she is prescribed a birth control pill, she will most likely be advised to start taking it the day her next period begins. It will not be effective for a while. (The length of time until effective will vary by dose) You will then have to use a different method of birth control, like condoms, or abstainment until the pill is effective. All of this will be described to you when you go with her to her appointment.

Even if she goes on the pill RIGHT NOW, it's not going to take affect for a month. She has to wait to have her first period and THEN she starts taking it. I'd be using an alternate form of birth control for the next month and a half until then.

That's not necessarily true. Every female is different. I took one a few months ago and it didn't upset my belly at all. As a matter of fact, it made me super horny, like instant orgasms. I almost contemplated buying them again just because...

When I was 17 I had the same issue with a girlfriend. Turns out she didn't want any family members to see her going to the clinic to get the pill.
Solution, took her on a road trip to another city. I hear Red Deer is nice this time of year.
