Yes... I think it is a 2028 2nd rounder though, either way, whatever that pick is, will become a 2028 1st round pick if Vegas wins the 2026 Stanley Cup.

Agreed. Sorry Rasmus you're not Sidney Crosby or Brad Marchand. You've been fairly productive during your tenure with The Flames, but still zero Cups and one playoff series win. Why are veterans always treated with kids gloves? Under they have trade conditions send them to wherever best suits The Flames needs. Conroy is already trading within division to Vancouver and Vegas... With Iginla and Kiprusoff it made sense, but management/ownership needs to be more cutthroat going forward.

Is it top 10 protected too? I haven't see that yet. I've only seen that it becomes 1st if VGK wins Cup this year.

If you want to defend the trade that is fine. I think it is the worst trade we have made in years, considering what we could have gotten at least years deadline.

Pretty meh return. Not a steal but not bad. Could be two firsts, unfortunately not going to be high.

Also can not be mad at Ras for not wanting to sign anything right now. Totally his right to go to free agency.

It pisses me off that it's Vegas (unless Raz comes back to us after testing UFA and getting offers he doesn't like ha ha...like that will happen....). But overall the return isn't awful for the player as it stands. The retention is interesting...not sure why it was needed, but maybe Vegas is strapped to the cap? Smarter people than me will know that.


But Conny's hands were tied and he wouldn't, I don't think, have gotten a comparable return last year at the TDL as Raz wasn't playing anywhere nearly as well. Typical for a contract year.
