Have to say how much of a great player and leader he has been for this team. Obviously don’t know how the trade is going to go down but he’s been such a pro for this whole process. It’s been a while since a trade like this happened for the flames… one where the fans love the player so much but also understand that it’s best for the team for him to be traded… and the player understands it as well and has played his heart out all year for this team. He’s been their best player. Hoping for a great return of course but will also hope he gets a huge contract and a cup wherever he goes.

So he played today, has not been traded and there is no real confirmation that he's even close to being traded? Yet we're acting like he's already back in town for his first game against us after being traded.

Friedman also said today it is close.
Who knows if it happens before the next home game, but I think it is very likely that any home game in the near future could be his last as a Flame. Rasmus's demeanor after the game seems to suggest he is treating it like that and trying not to take the moment for granted.

He said something before that seconds before it led up to it. Although Andersson is Swedish, if I remember correctly the commentator (Rick Ball?) said Rasmus knows a little Finnish and was chirping a Minnesota Wild player on the bench.

I'm sure Abbott hears a lot of things he doesn't repeat on air, so him talking like that at the end of the game is a pretty big sign too that he doesn't expect Andersson to still be a Flame on Monday.

I wish that too, but I just dont see it. The Flames could easily pay him and easily still stay under the Cap, but it just doesnt make sense for either side.
He wants a big payday, and...likely deserves it. But in his career trajectory he isn't going to win anything here.
We just dont match at this point in time. Its unfortunate, but it is what it is at this point in time.
