I think they could get a lot for Trochek and get a tom for Panarin 50% RS if he is willing to waive to a few teams.

Rangers do have some aging pieces to move...but some of those contracts are worse than Kadri's.

Zibanejad ($8.5 x 5) and Miller ($8 x 5) have ugly deals.

Trocheck is decent at $5.625M

Panarin could get a haul as the premier rental available.

I don't see them moving Fox, or Gavrikov. Borgen is probably some what untradeable.

Soucy maybe get a mid round pick as a rental.

Doubt Shesterkin is going anywhere, a team looking for goaltending depth likely takes a stab at Jonathan Quick.

Zibanejad has been between 72-91 points the last 4 years with last year being the only bad year at 62.

He is 2 years younger than Kadri and the contract expires the same year. Full NMC is the issue

Trocheck puts up same numbers are Kadri and is 2 years young with 3 years left at $2M less than Kadri. Not sure why these guys are not brining back similar value or more than Kadri

If Drury traded Panarin for Tom Erixon my 2026 would be complete. Egg you Dreary Drury and your stupid g d'd Rangers. I hope this was Dolan forcing Drury to grovel and bend at the knee to keep his job and continue ruining that team forever. Hopefully the Oilers hire Drury one day.

Retool is just the no-name brand rebiggle.

For some reason I thought Zibanejad was having a really bad season.

Trocheck will have value for sure, if a team needs a second line center that's also strong defensively he fills that need.

First overall in 2020. President's Trophy in 2024. Retool in 2026.

They're speed running this.

How does Drury still have a job? The guy has been a disaster for the organization.

Well, Gorton was fired three years after the 2018 letter so you can expect something relatively soon.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...act-extension/

The Rangers will not attempt to re-sign Panarin, who is now the biggest rental available.

According to several sources, before releasing the letter, Drury met individually with members of the leadership group and addressed the team as a whole. As part of this retool process, Artemi Panarin was informed that he will not be offered a contract extension, and that Drury was prepared to work with him and agent Paul Theofanous to trade the winger anywhere he wishes to go.

From TSN on Bluesky:
Quote:
Rangers GM Chris Drury has announced the team will embark on a retool that could mean moving on from players tied to past success.
"Moving on from players tied to past success" ... I don't know if there's much of a trade market remaining for guys like Brian Leetch, Mark Messier, and Mike Richter.

It's nice that they can present and show they have a vision, we would not know as we are flames fans.

What exactly do you think the vision is vis-a-vis, say JT Miller and Zibanejad?

If they get a 1st for Trocheck and a 1st and a prospect for Panarin, they are looking very good.

They are 6th last right now and 4 teams all with a game or 2 on hand and 3 points back. They are just as much in the McKenna race as we are.

They ship out $16M in cap, draft a top 3 pick and sign a big UFA. Potentially have 4 1sts this year as they already have Carolina's 1st this year.

I really don't see why they can't do a quick flip and be set move forward with one trade deadline of selling.
