Either did I, but the best story might be Conny locking him up on the cheap for 2 more years

I really wish that the Flames had put both RS RD Daniil Miromanov and LS LS LD Jake Bean on waivers to start the season which would have only cost Calgary a mere $750k in Cap Space to bury them both in the AHL. Calgary would still have both 25-year-old LS RD/LD Iyla Solovyov and 23-year-old LS LD/RD Yan Kusnetsov. They are essentially the same player. 6'3", 208 lbs. vs 6'4", 209 lbs. Solovyov is 2 years older and has a slightly higher offensive upside. Kuznetsov is younger and a little more physical. Bean is injured and will be a UFA at the end of this season and is unlikely to be re-signed. Miromanov is a UFA at season's end and has already cleared waivers down to the AHL costing the Flames only $100k in Cap Space. He also is unlikely to be re-signed.
Looking back, it was bad asset management by the Flames to not keep Solovyov.
not this again...guy is about to be a UFA and has no asset value

Small sample size, obviously. But let the man have his day in the sun.
I think the Flames might have a goal tender tandem.

So Hawk fans want to tank so they can draft a difference maker? Unless I'm missing something, I thought they already did.

After Beecher's revenge KO on McCarron for all the cheapshots to start the fight against Beecher, the immediate reactions by Sharangovich, Frost, Coleman, and Klapka are all great.
I don't know the name of the coach in Grey but in the spirit of bad lip reading, it looks like he's yelling "Cobra Kai!" just as Beecher nails him.

Also, I love Coleman and would be sad to see him go. Whoever gets him, if he is traded, is getting a real beauty.

I’m wondering if Zary wasn’t a bit gunshy for a while as he seemed to actively avoid contact…but for the past few games he’s been far more physically engaged.

Was at the game last night. Came away with a few thoughts:

1) Cooley is cool. He seems to have great economy of movement and never looked troubled back there. A big, technically sound goalie. Also had fantastic rebound control, every puck went where he put it - or he held it.

2) We played a great 'road game' - structured, defensively sound, and intelligent. That's my overall impression of the Flames this year: we play our system, we play smart, we play simple hockey.

3) We have no talent on the roster. There is no one on the roster who stands out athletically, no one who looks substantially different from anyone else in the way they move on the ice, or what they do with the puck. At one point I turned to my friend and said "Our whole team is a pretty good third line."

4) Being one of 14 people cheering for the Flames in a 20,000 seat arena is kinda fun when we win.

That broken quote was very confusing to see quoted.
