As a rental, the return is a 1st.
With re-signing, the return is 1st + prospect.

So the difference could be Detroit offering 1st as a rental or 1st+Nate with him signed. But if he won't re-sign it doesn't matter.

But maybe he will with Dallas or Vegas.
Vegas has nothing.
Dallas has nothing that amazing.

Which brings us back to Hemming.
I think its might depend on the team but probably something like that.

For some teams maybe the prospect is locked. An extension changes the value of the pick...an extension maybe changes it from the Prospect + 2nd or 3rd to the prospect + 1st.

Agreed, not even sure he is even a prospect.

Getting a 1st and Bourque is basically the Hanifin package.

Bourque is quite a bit better than Miromanv (not that I would like Bourque as the return)

I don't like any of Dallas offerings truly. But Andersson is gonna sign an extension somewhere.

I just hope he chooses Detroit.

BTW... Dallas doesn't have their 2028 1st, so the 27 would have to be unconditional.

More or less, but Bourque is much better than Mirranov, who was basically a throw in,

Bourque hasn’t been given a huge chance on the top 6. He might surprise if playing with top players. I don’t think that’s on the Flames although.

He produced big time playing with Stankoven in the AHL. He certainly needs a driver.

So do the Flames. Badly.

No it doesn’t. It can get bumped to 2029 if both teams agree to it.

Honestly I think I'd prefer:

Boston / Toronto 2026 1st
Lohrei

to

Dallas 27 1st
Hemming

That pick is going to be 10 spots higher and a year sooner, that's huge value IMO.

I don't know if my body is ready to handle another Bourque on this team. The last one gave me fits.

Okay fine, but unlikely Calgary agrees to that

Carlo got Minten, 1st round pick (top 5 protected) and a fourth. I would hope Andersson can (and very much should) get a much better package with an extension

I don’t care which team he goes to or what extension he signs. I just want the absolute best deal for the Flames. Anderson’s timeline and the Flames timeline are different hence the trade activity.

Also, so many posts and not one Fata reference. I used to know you CP.

Agreed. The pick would be much more attractive. Hemming or Lohrei? Whatever.

Carlo had two years control and the Bruins also retained 15%.

Is it too late to get Minten in a Boston return instead of lohrei?

Letourneau would be a good piece too.

I think Bourque would be a good add for the Flames but I don’t think it will be him, he’s not a prospect anymore, and I think the Stars actually need him as they don’t have that much depth up front. Benn and Duchene aren’t what they were anymore.
