He's also Dallas' second best prospect. So if they aren't willing to part with Bischel, he might be the best you can get.
Edit: Maybe Schmidt instead.

IDK, its 2 firsts...we have had a few posters claim he couldn't get one
its not a home run but probably a triple if that is the deal

It's still essentially 2 1sts, which isn't a bad return for a pending UFA. There were people on here that thought we'd only get a 2nd.

lol stereo opinions
Its a late 1st, so technically yes, two 1sts but "not as bad as some thought" isn't necessarily a win

3 goals in 7 games for a mid team isn't good? Seems okay

To be clear though, I would also be fairly whelmed, if it turns out to be Hemming + 1st

In his defense, he was being put on the ice for the big moments - PPs, last minute, etc. Finland never got it going in the tournament (that happens), but the coach certainly valued him as one of their key players.

Good.
Only thing I'd want from Vegas is pure picks package - that means '27 1st + '28 1st +.

For Vegas to be serious, they should send over an asset we could flip, such as Karlsson.
2027 1st
W. Karlsson
J. Ihz-Wozniak
*2026 1st conditions changed
For
R. Andersson
*If Vegas makes conference finals, Calgary can push 2026 1st round pick to 2028 unprotected.
Flip Karlsson to any of the 21 teams he can be traded to (Has a 10 team NTC). Gives Vegas some additional cap space to make another push for someone else, and we could retain on Karlsson instead of Andersson for a good return. Karlsson's contract expires in 2027.

I'm not even saying he is good I never heard of him until today...just saying those WJC stats don't seem bad on an underdog team. Its also a small sample size.

Hemming and a 1st is basically two late firsts.
Wouldn't expect much more than that for a rental.
If hes extended I'd expect more.

It would be a meh return - the first isn’t until 2017 and Hemming has probably seen his stock drop a bit since draft .
Getting a winger vs D or C prospect would be my biggest gripe - but if it’s the best you can get it is what it is

I think that would be disappointing. I don't think much of Hemming as a prospect.

Hemmings brother is draft eligible this summer. Big boy playing well at Boston College. Maybe a future brother act!

A trade of a vet to a contender is always going to involve later picks in any given round though. That's something a lot of people forget when they are talking "first round pick".
I mean, even Detroit is in 6th place, picking 26th in 2026 if it all ended today (and presumably they improve with Rasmus).

I don’t think Bischel woll I’lld be considered a prospect at this point so you could say that Hemming is their best prospect… just not as good of a prospect as Danielson for example.
