Weird how a business that has had their assets seized three times in that country isn’t sure about committing money there without some assurances. I think the overall reception by the oil execs wasn’t as rosy as Trump expected though.
Ya I think Exxon CEO called Venezuela “uninvestable” at this point. Bodes well for us if we could ever get out of our own way.
Tons of protestors chasing them away in the link below, right after they shot someone point blank in the face, is brave as hell. And exactly what is needed.
I've been listening to the Meidas podcast quite a bit over the past year and they always draw attention to the video clips of protestors cursing out ICE. The most enjoyable are the guys in LA, they go off with constant f bomb and a barrage of insults while they remind ICE that they are not welcomed and get the f out of our neighborhoods. Chicago were pretty badass as well. It's so enjoyable watching those scumbags get cursed out and insulted.
So much respect to these protesters in Minneapolis, knowing they just shot a woman in the face, I'm not sure I would be as brave.
I don’t believe for a second NATO forces will oppose any action by Trump in Greenland.
I could see Denmark at least putting up passive resistance, like blocking access to a harbour with a naval vessel. You want to go there you need to sink us first. A terrible sacrifice but one that calls Trumps bluff and forces him to show who he is unambiguously.
I’m not sure what you mean here, about the end of diplomatic responses. On whose part?
If your homes are being raided with live ammunition without judicial warrants there’s really only one other response you can do to defend yourself. The government is clearly escalating. People are going to take matters into their own hands sooner than later.

Oh I see, yeah there’s definitely going to be more violence if they keep going door to door.
There are approximately 3 million eligible Alberta voters. Let's say 75% turnout, since it would be an important vote. That's 2.25 million voters. Bribing half of them with $10k each would be about $11 billion. Is $10k enoguh for half of Albertans to shift their vote? I kinda doubt it. But at $100k, or $111 billion you might move enough people. And $100 billion is nothing to the US government.
Yeah, my math was off but we could totally be bought.

To add to that, congress is doing nothing to rein it in/stop it, both from democrats and republicans. The state can’t call the national guard without the federal government overtaking it, and you have local police staying out of the way since a fed could potentially start arresting them. So the only option is that it’s up to the people
This was all started the moment the feds didn’t open an investigation re:shooting.
a good reminder that you’re on your own if #### hits the fans. don’t expect govt to help

Well the talk of bringing in the National Guard to handle ICE is actually horrific. Not because I’m in favour of ICE, but because that’s literally civil war.
They don't need to pay him, he will receive gifts, insider trading info, shares, investments through his cyrto platform in exchange for the access that the war profiteers get.
Emperor is not a salaried position, you just take part in the spoils

That's probably the only way this whole mess ends on a positive note. MAGA isn't giving up power willingly at this point, either the sane Americans fight back with force to retake their country or they stand by and let the fascist takeover continue, until they end up in some sort of dissident camp

You think that if the US just takes it, it’s theirs? Because that’s frankly terrifying. I think military actions is as well, because we’re 100% caught in the middle of that, but I just hope something happens in the meantime that derails all that talk.
It would be the end of NATO.

Apparently Congress will though and maybe that's what's needed. Many Republicans have said they will not support any military actions against Greenland. If Trump goes over their heads and does it anyhow maybe that's the push needed for the Republicans to finally abort the MAGA ship.
