Hage would cost an overpay at this point. AT LEAST Coleman + Vegas 1st

I'd be okay if it's Coleman for Owen Beck and a 2nd.

Here is where I get a bit hypocritical. While Hage I think is off the table, I really don't think the Habs 1st is out of the question here.

Coleman should easily get at least a first.

Ya, it would be a significant upgrade.

In my head the Canadiens have loads of cap space... but looking into it, they only have $2.7M. So they would need both retention and likely to send dead cap back. I really do not know enough about them to make a good guess...

Kadri (50%) + Coleman (50%) for Hage + 1st + Anderson + 2nd?

That doesn't feel quite right but I do not know who is the cap dump on the Canadiens...

If it's Beck, I would want a 1st attached. Would also accept an additional 2nd/1st if we are bringing back Anderson in the trade to help them stay compliant.

I forgot that they just acquired Danault... so maybe they do not need Kadri.

Then again, Danault still has 0 goals on the season and his stats look more like a 3/4C than a 2C.

I was thinking Beck+1st+3rd (2nd if the Habs win a round) for Coleman 50% retained.

Would Beck even craft our top 10 prospects? Not so sure
1st would be a must honestly.

After the tournament that Hage just had, I doubt he is on the table. That is why I had hoped we could grab him before it happened. The Habs are not dealing him unless it's for a massive upgrade with term.

They already have a couple potential cap dumps on LTIR: Laine, Dach. I suppose they could move Danault but they just got him.

I have a feeling Montreal might just stand pat to see where they are when guys like Newhook, Evans, Guhle, etc come back. They have good chemistry right now and screwing that up might be a concern. Coleman would be a big upgrade on Gallagher but Gallagher has a NMC and I bet he wants to finish in Montreal.

Ya, Beck feels like a sidegrade or downgrade on Reschny and Potter. I wouldn't spend trade chips on Beck.

I'd love a first in addition to Beck too, I'm just trying to be realistic. Beck and a 2nd is two second rounders, which is pretty good value. That said, if we could get a desperate team to give up a first I'd absolutely do it.

Would you do Coleman straight up for a first (and no Beck)?

I just don’t think Coleman even gets moved this year if it’s not for at least a 1st. He’ll get at least a 2nd + prospect next year at the deadline

Apparently Laine and Dach are skating. So their cap hits will count again soon. Guhle and Evans too.

I think Coleman is staying put if there is not a first in the deal. I think enough teams have interest that they can get more than a 1st especially if they retain 50%

Jeremy White of WGR Radio reports that Buffalo is going after UFA Artemi Panarin.

The prices are high for RHD. San Jose didn't make an offer for Hamilton as the ask was too much and not what they are wanting to do with their core. Talks happened the last 1-2 days but San Jose is building for players to play with their core. They are not interested in Ristolainen who has been made available. Andersson their is still interest but they are exploring what else is available and it seems Vegas is the team where his preference still is.
