Klapka on the PK as a forward would be very interesting.
He skates well enough, and you'd think his large reach would really be able to disrupt things on the PP in terms of breaking up lanes.

Would much rather take an NHL regular and see if he can figure it out after presumably having special teams experience throughout his career then roll out some guys who play special teams currently in a considerably worse league.
Just funny to me that a coach seems to unwilling to take on that kind of challenge, you're a huge underdog, take some risks.
Regardless, shame for Klapka.

Did the Czech coach not think to park him in front of the net on PP2?

Cervenka is producing at a better pace in the Czech league at the age of 40 than he was 10 years ago. No surprise he's on the roster.
Some guys just don't want to live outside of Europe. He gave it a shot, decided it wasn't for him, and walked away. I have no issues with that.

Seemed more like a language barrier hurdle and a guy who didn’t want to move to North America. Too bad it didn’t work out, I liked his game.

Slovakia's roster announced. Pospisil was named back in June but we still have to see if he will be healthy enough. Conroy was hopeful that he would start skating later this month.
Also former Flame Adam Ruzicka makes the roster.

There is NO rational argument for taking Ruzicka over Klapka. None.

One is Czech. One is Slovak.
