I'm surprised Doughty even wants to play, he got absolutely destroyed multiple times by the tkachuks last time. Some of the hardest hits I've ever seen.

Honestly, I don't see the problem with leaving Fox off. Who does he replace from this group?:
Faber
Hanifin
Hughes
Jones
McAvoy
Sanderson
Slavin
Werenski
The only real argument would be Jones. And maybe Hanifin.
But what does Fox bring? He is small, and doesn't skate well. The tournament will be a track meet, and the battle with Canada will be extremely physical. Fox doesn't fit in that scenario, so it is just his offensive game. And with Hughes, McAvoy and Werenski, they don't need him for that either.

So fire Cooper after the 4 nations because his NHL team didn't win the cup? His roster in Tampa is older and not as good as it used to be, he is still the same coach. Maurice would have zero cups if he didn't leave the Jets.

If that Dallas vs Minnesota round 1 match up wasn't going to be fun enough already there is going to be even more motivation for Robertson to just try and torch Guerin in that series.

Finland could surprise, they look solid.
Canada's goaltending could be its undoing.
USA is scary.
Russia would have a good contender if it wasn't invading another nation (not named Venezuela...).
Sweden not as strong in net as they have been before, could be a fault.
Backlund omission is silliness.

There are a number of players who are injured and on their countries Olympic roster. A number of these guys have been injured since they were announced to their teams. Still a month to go before the Games. Got to be some nervous team managers watching game reports after each night of games
Bo Horvat
Tom Wilson
Devon Toews
Gabriel Landeskog
Matthew Tkachuk
Seth Jones
Jaccob Slavin
JT Miller
Victor Hedman
William Nylander
Shea Theodore

I mean I dislike Fox as much as the next person here, but he is the best defenseman the US has outside of Hughes.
This year on a terrible Rangers team he has a 57% corsi which is near the top of the league in possession, he’s also 58% expected goals-for at 5v5 which is best in the NHL. He's near the top of the league in ice time (24 minutes a night) and he has 28 points in 29 games.
It’s an absolutely bonehead decision by Guerin.

Kind of feel bad for him.
If he was given more opportunity off the 4th line this season he probably makes it, and TBH I think he's probably actually earned more of that opportunity.
It's a bit weird he's been stapled to the 4th line so much this year, and we haven't seen the Huberdeau - Kadri - Klapka line that had some success to end last season at all this season.

Roman Cervenka ... That's a name I wasn't expecting to see.

Maybe he's becomes some sort of super leader but doesn't bode well for the Czech's if they need to bring a 40 year old.
Still a bit disappointed that guy cut and ran. Was on basically a 20 goal pace in his one year here.

Not sure how Klapka doesn’t make that Czech team looking at some of the guys there. Cervenka is also far from their worst forward, he’s leading the Czech league in scoring. I think he could’ve had a long NHL career had he stayed

Read that Vladar made the Czech team. Good for him. I really liked Vladar. But I think he made the right decision to leave in the offseason
