So if the pattern follows, Kenney will win the CPC leadership, and a few years later get removed and replaced by Ben Mulroney.

You haven't made any actual cogent arguments about why this is a bad plan other than saying golf courses exist.

I didn't say it was a bad plan. Perhaps you need to go back and re-read. See if you can figure out what I'm getting at.

Both is the right answer, and the trail proposal independently doesn't seem like a bad thing. Where I think you see sensitivities is that hikers and mountain bikers have been expected to make sacrifices on this front, while no one else has. If you want to 4x4 or golf, don't worry, all environmental concerns will be thrown to the wayside to ensure you can continue to enjoy your hobbies.
I think what people are asking for is shared sacrifice so everyone can still reasonably maintain their ability to enjoy the mountain areas we all share.

It's like when Silvertip went in, and then the bears and cougars got pushed up the slope of Lady Mac, and then they closed one of the most beautiful hiking/biking trails in the valley because of animal interactions. Were they on they trail? Yes. But the initial cause was the golf course and it's massive oversized impact and footprint. The didn't close the golf course. This is why it's laughable and frustrating.

I am still fascinated by this post. I get that you are not coming right out an saying that you support emissions reductions but the fact that you laid out the logic is still surprising to me.
Absolutely the argument should be to "do better" on all fronts. Especially with this UCP government whose focus has largely been to "do worse" on all fronts as a tactic to flood the field and make it harder for the people of Alberta to focus on the worst offenses.
They are not only trying to monetize all of these decisions but ensure they directly or indirectly profit on each one. (See Todd Loewen changing the rules and directly profiting on hunting licenses for rich people to come to Alberta)
It is also pretty gross that they identify these "increased demands" in things like hiking and camping but in healthcare and education they intentionally ignore the increase in demand.

Supposedly, this is “heavily speculated” in the political community, but I watch the news like a hawk, and the first I heard about it was on an episode of the strategists a few days ago. They know their stuff.

In response to the separatist petition…
Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation is suing Alberta, The Chief Electoral Officer & Canada for failing to implement Treaty 8 & breaching it!
They are also seeking an injunction to halt the petition!

Is it just me or is the collapse of our health care system just not really news these days? Like I feel like it should be red alert everywhere and instead it’s like hey look, the gov wants to really tackle hiking trails in the mountains.
I mean, sure, good, do something when you go to work politicians, I guess, but, a guy just died in the hospital with a heart attack because we didn’t have the resources to care for him, and we literally had no available ambulances a couple days ago, but ya, cool. Trails. Focusing on the critical stuff.
Like why is the media / social media not destroying the UCP on this stuff more?

Too many Albertans are caught up in identity politics, and screaming about pipelines that aren't really needed (I'm not against pipelines but I don't think it's our most pressing issue).
The UCP have wasted billions of dollars on nothing. That money could have easily fixed a lot of our problems, but the NDP spent money on light bulbs and that's the real problem. We live in one of the dumbest areas in North America.
Just read the comments for articles or posts about Alberta healthcare. It's just people screaming blaming everyone but Alberta and it's leaders. We don't demand better from our politicians and they can do whatever they want.

Only 7 hours at Foothills right now(and I can tell you from many experiences, that's super optimistic and just the start of your journey).
It sounds like you would like me to bitch about healthcare more. But as we've seen in the past, people are pretty good at pretending nothing can be done and we are doing the absolute best possible and it's a problem everywhere so just shut up about it already. I've been on it since before that cunt was elected, when it was obvious she had zero interest in fixing things, and only wanting to tear it apart and enrich her friends. Shocking news, that's exactly what happened.
Maybe more people should listen to Fuzz and we wouldn't be here.

The thing is, healthcare is so difficult to fix. While the best healthcare around is pretty much the Nordic countries, it’s also got a component of private care. That private care is basically the third rail in Canadian politics because we look at the US system and see the mess there, so it’s automatically discounted. Then we look at the waste in our system and any attempts to cut there are seen as taking people away from the system who would otherwise be seeing patients (though surely there are some efficiencies to be found).
The other issue is that because healthcare is a mess everywhere, governments can slide by. It’s not like the other provinces have this figured out, and there’s been growing use of private voluntary insurance in the Nordic countries because people don’t like the long waiting times. So, while the UCP sucks, and aside from the obvious scandals, it’s not that different from other places.
