I started playing KCD2 two weeks ago. What an awesome game.
I liked that game so much. Some of the best characters and storylines ever in a video game. I still mimic some of Henry's lines at times. "A word about the price".

Ah. I got a notification on my PS5 about deals, so checked it out. Watched the trailer videos for Shadows and it looked fun, and half the price? Hubby said get it, so I did. Haven't done anything but download it so far, I'll probably wait until my daughter gets hers delivered so we can start it together.
Mildly overweigh yourself and walk everywhere for a while.. takes longer to travel but you massively boost your stats passively.
Definitely one of my favourite games in recent memory.
Yep. The only grip I had is the difficulty curve which starts out steep and then gets easy by the end. Otherwise for me it's the best video game I've played since Eldon Ring. I get that a medieval RPG isn't going to resonate with the masses like a FF style RPG but it's a real shame it's been overshadowed by E33. E33 was really good but I've already forgot about it while KCD2 I still think about at times.

E33 is not a game that's designed to "appeal to the masses"... no turn based game falls into that category. Especially not one that's so weirdly French.

No turn based game falls into that category? That's a statement at odds with the success of Baldur's Gate or FF. Clearly it resonated with the masses and far more appealing than an old school medieval RPG. After all E33 cleaned house on the awards which is pretty rare for an game so clearly it has mass appeal behind it. Also it's not a traditional turn based game and more a hybrid game style blending turn based and real time. Maybe the twist turn based combat is why people liked it so much combined with a pretty solid story.
I'm not upset that E33 won GOTY as I would much rather it go to a game like this from a smaller developer that tried something different than say a re-manufactured Sony 1st party game. I'm just a little sad that KCD2 was so overlooked and underappreciated as games with such high quality, immersive storylines like that don't come along often. I'm a guy that when a game is completed, I've already moved on to the next game but that game left a mark on me like no game since the Witcher 3.

First Sinner is easily my favorite boss in the game. Karmelita isn't near the top but I think her fight design and animation is great. My least favorite bosses in Silksong are the ones that just throw their bodies at your with no warmup animation like Broodmother or Lugoli.
I think it's worth finishing Act 3 even if you decide to skip Karmelita. There's a lot of great lore to come that makes it worth the effort, and the final fight is pretty epic.
If you haven't done it yet, the Wish for Mister Mushroom is a nice tour of Pharloom and a great break from hard as hell boss fights.
I eventually managed to beat Karmelita (still don't know how, but at some point it clicked for me), got 100% on the game and beat the final boss. Liked the game enough to want to see it through, even with the game taking one final cheapshot by not awarding the "Completion" trophy when you reach 100% after doing the final boss, not before.
I liked A LOT about this game, including some really difficult bosses ... learning the patterns until it finally "clicks" was fun for the most part. Loved a lot of the bosses (Lace, First Sinner, Trobbio, Cogwork Dancers, Phantom etc), loved the lore, loved the characters, loved the graphics and sound design. Loved the pure platforming areas. Absolutely loved Hornet's gameplay in every aspect, even though I probably didn't experiment enough with different crests and tools. Ultimately, I was comfortable with the Reaper Crest for the majority of the game ... and the Cogflies/Pollip Pouch combo carried my ass hard.
But it was also BY FAR the most frustrating game I've ever played and I still think a lot of the frustration was by the design and unnecessary. Punishing runbacks and gauntlets really don't add a lot of value in my opinion. For my taste, the game just too often hates the player and tries to be an ####### on purpose. Then again, I admit I rarely venture into playing these types of games, so I'm sure a lot of people will disagree in the end, I'm happy I managed to beat the game ... and I wanted that damn "Completion" trophy for my efforts, so I beat the final boss a second time. And now I'm the hell out

That's great that you made it all the way! I think the game does a good job rewarding you for sticking it out, but I agree with most of your complaints. I especially hated the gauntlets before a boss you have to do every time you attempt that boss. The runbacks are absolutely the most disliked thing in the entire game by the player base at large. The Bilewater bench is the most unfriendly design in the entire game and I'm shocked they left it that way.
The Hollow Knight series are amazing games but it's incredibly difficult to recommend them to an average person.

I played the first two episodes of Dispatch. It's not normally the type of game I would enjoy but it's very well written. I'd be happy just watching it as a show.

That was my thought, or a version with the visual novel stuff without the dispatch game part which I thought was ok but really wasn't my thing.
Maybe I'll find a good YouTube playthrough to watch.

I'm late to the party, but finally got CFB26 after finally saying goodbye to my CFB25 dynasty. The new increased transfer window is intense! Just took my team to the national championship game (lost) in year 1, now like half my starters told me they're transferring out, including my phenom freshman QB who started all year, lol what the heck??
Love the game otherwise, clearly an upgrade from last year. But drastically changes recruiting strategy - basically going to need to heavily recruit every position annually, since every player is basically a UFA every offseason

I totally agree, Dispatch would be a great show. I'm currently on episode 4 and really enjoying it.
Bought Marvel Cosmic Invasion to play with my kids since we had so much fun with Streets of Rage 4, and initially it started out really fun. But man the difficulty spikes up hard in the mid-game and now we're stuck, really sucks that there's not even any difficulty options. Should have waited on this one for a patch or mod to make it easier
