To your first paragraph, to most people Christmas is about traditions. To some, that means the religious bit, but to others, it's just doing what they've always done but skipping the time wasting church bit. Gifts don't have a lot to do with Christ's birth these days, I don't remember hearing he got a PlayStation. Nobody is exchanging gifts with thought and consideration to the three wise men and some incense. That's the last thing on people's mind.
As to your second paragraph, people are mostly ignorant #######s, but generally mask it well. You are observing leakage.
But also, are you suggesting it's lazy, offensive, and also perfectly normal because of the Greek angle? Lots to square there...
Or maybe you were just working on a Van Morison verse.
Well of course not, he got a Nintendo DS

I’m a white guy who has done Chinese New Years with my Asian friend!
Partying , drinking , eating , getting together and giving presents is fun ! Maybe that’s why people participate ?
Pretty much this. It's a chance to get together with people and do some celebrating. Good food, good company, there's not a lot I don't like about Christmas holidays. Plus, I really enjoy the mood at the office during December, as everyone's looking forward to a holiday break, there's events and team lunches / dinners / parties.
I get it could also be a stressful time for some who really take it super serious, but for me, I always look forward to the fun gatherings and time off that Christmas holidays brings.
I respect and understand people who don’t like Christmas or don’t celebrate it for whatever reason they have, but how do you get 40 years into your life and not understand why people celebrate or enjoy Christmas?

Oh I understand it.
I don't agree with it or like it but I understand it.

I know you do. That’s my point. It’s totally normal not to celebrate it or even like it in general. Lots of reasons why, so I totally get you and respect it.
But the people who ask why people celebrate or enjoy Christmas? Come on lol
Last night my son sent our family group a video of us decorating the tree in 1993. My wife and our 2 boys did most of it while I sat on the couch dispensing free opinions. Poor daughter had to spend most of her time standing by the wall because that’s where the phone was. Good times.

The other part is that we were all just indoctrinated into it as children. We didn't have an alternative. Christmas back then was integrated into school and the community. So it's no surprise people continue what they've always done, those mental pathways are built young.

I assume it drums up things for under. I am sure he has seen some haunting things. I used to love Xmas, but now I am reluctant with no folks or kin and your brain thinks of better days.

The lead up to Christmas grinds my gears at work. Cramming 6 weeks of work into 3 weeks in December, and it happens every year. This week is getting out of control.

And for some reason everyone I am dealing with seem extra horrible this year.
"Hello DoubleF, can we chat? I have a question about some stuff. Please call me at 000-000-0001."
"Hello. I called 000-000-0001 as soon as I got your email and someone else picked up saying it was the wrong number. I tried your old number and no one picked up. Just want to confirm your number and what you'd like to chat about."
"That's because 000-000-0001 is not my number. My cell number is 000-000-0002. But you shouldn't be calling me right now anyways because I'm busy and in situations I cannot take calls. I'll be calling you instead."
I don't understand contradictory people like this.
