I also totally forgot they had Kuzmenko. Sounds like Kuzmenko has a thing going - Join a new team, and look great. 2nd year, be a passenger and an occasional healthy scratch.
Pick him in your pools for next year!

Good game for the Flames, they deserved that.
The third period was some bad hockey by both teams. Garrett may have a point about teams not playing to win when tied, because that was tough to watch. But full credit to the Flames who were the better team.

Their biggest flaw is their powerplay, a problem I just don’t get, given the available talent for PP1…(who’s in charge of the PP, btw…?)
Anyway. Nice to see a win for the Dads.

I’d have ability to shoot the puck in the net neck and neck in the big problem race

Scotty Bowman was opposed to the OTL point for that exact reason. It’s basic game theory. If you play to keep the tie for the last minutes of regulation, you’re going to get one point with a 50-50 chance of a second point. Try too hard to score, you risk a bad turnover and then you get nothing.

LA is so useless. But what can you expect from a bunch of turds that get embarrassed by the oil in the playoffs every season

It would be dead easy to fix but the NHL loves the compressed standings.

The trade freeze is on Friday too. It's unlikely anything happens until January.

A good effort and an enjoyable game for only having 3 goals. The Flames are now just as close to the last wild card spot they are to last place.
Kuemper’s performance overshadowed how good Wolf was. He’s so close to getting his save percentage above 0.900.
The Kings are a mess and at best will sneak into the playoffs for another first round loss. Funny they made a good decision to get rid of Blake then ruined it by hiring Holland. They should really start thinking about a rebuild.

The compete level in this team is something else. Husks comes in for a lot of criticism, but his players believe in him and put it out there for him.
As difficult as it is trying to get the measure right between the futility of winning, knowing we won’t make the playoffs, and losing to enhance our draft position, I really like the players. They have the drive and heart I want to see on any team I support.

What happened to El Capitano? The TV guys were talking about Frost taking (and winning) more faceoffs tonight because of Backs... something... couldn't tell if he left or didn't start.
Edit: Annnnd I suppose I can just google it lol. Someday I will do that instead of posting!
Edit: Looks like he left in the second, but I don't know why.

I would say 90 percent want a good pick and proper rebuild, they are just not obnoxious about it.

The frustration is real for some though. They see Wolf and curse that he is a good goalie, they are frustrated that Kuznetsov has come up and stepped right in as a top 4 dman, they view with dismay that Hunter B looks like he could be a NHL dman. These are all factors that contribute to the Flames winning and it is disappointing for them. It is a perspective.

Is this true?
I don't think I've seen any of the most vocal guys (Rhett44, Monahammer, etc) that want a tank complained about any of these things.
People want them to move the veterans like Kadri and Coleman that help them win now, but also don't help them at all long term because of their age.
I don't think I've seen any people complain that the prospects look good, in fact I think part of the argument of moving some of the veterans is to open more space for some of the other guys like Kuznetsov that have been in the org for 3-4 years already without getting a real look (Kerins, Stromgren, etc)

The Calgary Flames played really well against the Los Angeles Kings, carried the play pretty much the whole game. I was impressed.
