Ya. You folks have take the wind out of my sails. I've heard wind noise is an issues but I did not detect on Stoney but maybe in Strathmore or GP would be different. My field foreman absolutely loves his to put his guns and fishin poles in.

I wouldn't discourage you. It's a fun vehicle. The noise is at its worst on a windy day on something like hwy 2 out on the bald prairie (going 120). We took it to Kelowna last summer and it was great on hwy 3 through the mountains.

Better sound system than Audi, fully loaded on the technology.
When we started this process I would have guessed that we would have landed on the new Q5. Never thought I would buy a Korean car, but they are certainly bringing the fight to the Germans.

Genesis does do good interiors, sans the rectangle screen which is just lazy (several other manufacturers are guilty of this too).
However, Genesis engines are a generation or two behind other competitors in the segment IMO.

Why are so many hell bent on crapping on truck owners? Yeesh.

Are you suggesting it has a payload of half a tonne? Maybe they should name this style of truck after that.

I dunno if it's just the render but this wagon seems like it's 100 feet long.

Acura used to make a TSX wagon. They could make an integra wagon, although the hatchback is already kind of wagonish.
But yeah, the regular G90 sedan is already $120k, so I can't imagine the wingback being less. Still looks cool though.

I dont like the gap-shape between the fender and the door panel, but other than being the length of a football field it looks pretty sharp!

It does, which means hopefully it has a crap ton of cargo space. I'm sick of all the slope-y back wagons that prioritize looking cool over being functional, which is the whole point of them.

That was the best thing about the Volvo's. Philosophy of doing whatever style wise in the front but the rest always slowly got more square as you went back

Theres a 'baby got back' joke in here somewhere, but I'm leaving it. For now...

This still looks pretty slopey to me. The top spoiler makes it look a bit more square, but its just covering a fairly raked back window.
I still pine for this....huge boxy-cargo area, and big windows with more modest rear pillars.
Still one of the best cars we've owned. Everything after has looked nice, but has functionally been a downgrade.

I wonder if the drag issue is the reason we don't see much for boxy back sides these days? I don't know what the efficiency hit is, but perhaps it significant enough?

It doesn't seem to be stopping the bigger SUVs (Yukons, Suburban etc) from being boxier in the back.
I think it's more a style/trend thing. Wagons these days are less about the pure utility aspect (probably since they pretty much are only available at the higher end), and a slopey rear makes them look sleeker/faster or something something.

The old ones, yes. The current V90, while very pretty, is abysmal for cargo space (25 cu. ft.):
The Mercedes seems to be one of the better ones now (35 cu. ft.):

I think it's less an issue on big ones because of the way fuel efficiency standards are calculated(not considering Euro market here). But as we move to electric, aerodynamic efficiencies gain even more importance for highway range.

I have always hated that most manufacturers have wagons in Europe and Asia but not here. I understand why manufacturers don't do it - no one buys sedans here let alone wagons. I should just be happy I could even buy a sedan instead of the preponderance of SUVs.
Genesis G70 wagon is available in the UK but not here, so I'd suspect they won't make this G90 available here either.
I drive a Kia liftback (Stinger) that I love. And of course no one bought them so they discontinued it. Why would Hyundai/Genesis/Kia sell wagons here when no one would buy them? K5 and K4 both available overseas as wagons too. So disappointing.
Maybe I'm not enough of a car guy to understand why everyone wants SUVs? Other than snowplowing from the low clearance, my Stinger has everything a crossover SUV has - and way more space inside.
