If it's a Volvo, take it to "Mr.V Plus" (used to be called Mr. Volvo, but they made him change it). We took our Volvos there for years...the owner is a bit gruff (and don't get him going on modern Volvos if you're in a rush), but those guys know what they are doing and are considerably cheaper than Valentine.

UPDATE: First, thank you for the advice from the folks on this forum.
We ended up ordering the Genesis GV70, drove both Lexus and Audi. The Genesis interior and feel and technology is just at another level. I had seen a lot of the reviews talk about how Genesis somehow feels like a $100k+ interior, but was skeptical until we saw it ourselves. Really impressive. Base engine 2.5t at 300hp is plenty. Better sound system than Audi, fully loaded on the technology.
When we started this process I would have guessed that we would have landed on the new Q5. Never thought I would buy a Korean car, but they are certainly bringing the fight to the Germans.

And it’s not even a truck. It’s a CUV, an Escape with cargo space. Probably says more about the truck market then anything.

I'll never crap on a sensible sized vehicle like this. If all the people driving full size 4x4 pickup trucks for their daily city commute would switch to one of these, the roads would be such a better place. The amount of clowns on the streets with these jacked up 4x4 monster trucks with super low offset wheels poking out to the point where the entire lane from line to line is taken up is disturbing.

Oh man, this reminds me of driving home down 17 Ave earlier this year and seeing that greasy chode with that lifted white Ford Super-Douсhey with those obnoxious low offset wheels pulled over by CPS beside Tompkins Park. The amount of self-restraint it took not to slow down, open my passenger window, point, and laugh in his face as I rolled past... it was bordering on saintly, I tell you.

But how will I let everyone know I have a tiny peepee?
The Maverick is a truck, full stop. It's not as capable as an F150 but most of those aren't being used as a truck most of the time anyway.
I see a lot of them with business signage because it's great for light hauling with decent milage.

Nope, a truck requires bed to be longer than the cab*. Maverick fails that test. Some full size, too.
*I just made that metric up, but it feels valid, and you are going to have to prove me wrong if you want to dispute it.

Yeah that's a thing I hate about modern trucks. Give me an eight foot bed and a single bench seat.

A truck requires a Body on Frame (cab/ chassis with a separate box) A Maverick is a unibody design, neither have anything to do with the size of one’s dong. The Maverick is right sized for many uses and many customers. The maverick can tow as much as a mid sized SUV and has an 1100lb payload, so it is maxed out when 4 men throw in their golf clubs and head to the course.
Why are so many hell bent on crapping on truck owners? Yeesh.

I love the Maverick, my gripe against small trucks before it came around was that they were overpriced for such a lack of capability. The Maverick is at least priced appropriately despite the same lack of capability, so it's perfectly fine
That said I dont have any issue with what Derek Sutton is saying. It's hilarious to win truck of the year, and like he said, tells you a lot about the current truck market

It is 1500 pounds for most Maverick models. Only the Tremor and Lobo are significantly lower for some reason. Many F150s for 2025 are around 1800 pounds and some are as low as 1400 pounds.

I'm not going to argue the merits of the Maverick as a truck because I really don't care. I'm just happy to see more of them on the road.
I never had a problem with trucks until they became friggin huge and ubiquitous. Trying to park downtown and seeing streets full of stupidly large vehicles (I include SUVs too) is frustrating.
They are very useful but there's too many #######s who primarily buy them to sooth their fragile egos. The Black Dodge Ram driver has become a meme for being an aggressive ######. The Ram is the #1 vehicle involved in DUIs. Scary.
They're more likely to hit and kill pedestrians. Calgary just has a record year for pedestrian collisions. That's infuriating.

I drove around the ring road yesterday with thescorpion. I didn't really want to spend the money to upgrade but now I wanna upgrade. I have aghey soccer mom bornco sport (I've been told thats what it is). and I love the hell out of it. But you can remove the doors and top of this new one, would be a blast in summer. Only 19k km and the full model. Talk me out of this foolish decision.

You talking about getting a Bronco? Totally different vehicle than the sport. Sport is just a rebadged escape which is fine. We've had a Bronco for 4 years and there are some downsides. Highway wind noise being the worst. Not the greatest for fuel efficiency. We have the 4 cylinder and it's barely better than a 1/2 ton. Prepare to replace windshield often. Comfortable and drives nice and smooth. Fun to take offroad. Taking the roof off in summer is nice. In 4 years we've never taken the doors off.

The ability to take the doors off is one of those things people do once because it sounds cool, realize it's actually kind of a pain in to take off/on, and then never do it again. The Bronco is cool, but don't get it because of that.

Yeah. Taking off the roof is one thing, but I don't think I will ever take the doors off my Bronco.

Make sure that if you get driving gloves with your purchase, you want to be sure that they dont fit.
Just in case.
