To me it's a decision more focused on winning today than winning long term.
Same reason it was stupid to run Wolf into the ground so early in the season. More focused on winning one game than having a good plan for the entire year.

You're acting like this has been going on for a couple of months or something. It's a few games. Cooley has deserved it, and Wolf is getting a chance to reset.
The rebuild isn't being undermined

And now, Wolf will be in next game.
So what do we bitch about next?

Have to think that putting Wokf in next game if they play like this might destroy the kid. Questionable call, maybe we can bitch about that?

You couldn't even answer why you care if they win a cup in your lifetime.
Suggesting that finding joy and entertainment in something that solely exists to provide those two things is performing "cosplay enthusiasm" makes my point better than I could.
No they don't. You're missing the point because you're too worried about fan status (and therefore obsessed with seeing everything through that lens).
I don't have to list every example of fans that enjoy wins or championships more because of the journey to that point. You could probably come up with a couple dozen in about 10 seconds, so suggesting it has no bearing is nonsense.
We're equal as fans. You're just passing up opportunities to actually enjoy the ride (because again, what you enjoy has zero impact on the result, so you're robbing yourself for no reason), which means you're missing out and will probably continue to do so. If you're fine with that then there's nothing to get defensive about.

Do you ever stop to think that, maybe, what you put out into the world makes people defensive? Like, everyone you interact with?
You don’t get to tell people that they enjoy things less than you just because you say so. So my responding to that idiocy marks me for being defensive about “fan quality”. Alright then.
I don’t need to respond to the ridiculous question about why I care if Flames win a championship in my lifetime. It’s why we are all here, why you watch sports in the first place.
I hope you enjoyed the full 60 minutes of tonight’s debacle. We can cheers to it and feel free to hold that over me at the championship parade.

Classy move by the Predators organization for tonight's game. They left a letter and flower for Derek Wills at the broadcasting booth. Will lost his father last week and was emotionally appreciative of the gesture.

Whatever else you want to say about the Predators they are classy and their PR game is usually on-point.
Remember the Flood in Calgary? Who shipped industrial pumps to us to help? Yeah. Nashville.

Is Terry Crisp still with them or did he retire a year or two ago?

He retired a year or two ago, but they honored him earlier this year, and he has still appeared from time to time.
I watch a lot of Nashville's games, and I think Terry is a big part of the reason for their media being so classy from top to bottom.
