I’m not gonna say I hate it but I’m not impressed at all. I already have too much Lego and I thought an enterprise D might get me to buy another set even though I have no room to put it but I am overwhelmingly disappointed. Dare I say it’s downright ugly.
Loved the first line: “open hailing frequencies to your wallet.”
I’ve always thought that the magic of these sets was the ability to not know the builds were many tiny LEGO pieces unless you looked closely.
I’m not a fan of making it blindingly obvious that it’s LEGO as the saucer section does. Could they really not have used one less brick layer so that they could smooth the hull?
I’ll still buy it (wife approval factor will have to be ignored) but I too was hoping for more pieces and a build that makes me desperate for the next one. And I hope that next one is a Klingon battle cruiser.
And I’m still waiting for another rollercoaster. Roller coasters don’t repeat a lot, and as they are working units they really show off the Lego building techniques.
Don’t blow this Lego!

I was able to order it shortly after it became available, just before the site got busy and started queueing. Got the shuttle GWP, along with the Hot Chocolate Stand GWP and the mini Knight's Castle GWP also. Finally a set that my wife will want to build! I see that that it is now backordered with a 2 month wait. Maybe I should have bought 2!
I saw an ad for the ship only on Facebook, someone who wanted just the minifigs I guess.
I got to see the ship in the mall and my opinion is the same.. kinda cool but not a must-buy for me.. though the minifigs ARE awesome so I get the Facebook person.

If anyone missed out on The Enterprise for Christmas or whatever, I can sell you mine for cost. I secured the gift with purchase for myself, but I'm in no rush to build The Enterprise. I can buy it again down the road.
