I didn't see it mentioned yet: Draisaitl said postgame, "I don’t really know what to say, it’s just not good enough right now.”

What a perfect bookend to this thread and reinforcement of the E=NG mantra.

There was a sequence last night when the Stars had the Oilers buried in their zone and the clock came up to show how long the Stars had been there and it was well over a minute. At that point the broadcast should be playing the Globetrotters theme.

Yakity Sax is also an acceptable option.

Crazy to see Skinner is actually in the positive in goals saved above average in all situations on moneypuck.

+1.0

If the Oilers think a move for a goaltender solves this they are in for a rude awakening.

Unfortunately the Oilers will likely get a new coach bump from DeBoer which I assume will happen in the next few months if the Oilers current trajectory continues.

If they don't get a coach that holds their players accountable, then it doesn't matter. Their top five players in ice-time also bleed chances against. Since they were getting blown out anyway last night, it would have been the perfect opportunity to send a message. It might be too late for someone like McDavid though who has never had to face consequences for mistakes.

Will McDavid approve Deboer as a replacement? Pete's a pretty good coach - not sure McD is interested in being held accountable.

Maybe Eakins 2.0 and his laissez-faire style would be the perfect fit to allow McDavid to continue to lollygag on the backcheck and rack up garbage time points.

It's all up to McDavid now.

Over the last 6-8 years McDavid and Draisaitl average around 7 shots a game between the 2 of them. This year they are at 5.4.

It's not uncommon for McDavid types to be past their prime by 27-28 due to playing big minutes when they are 18.

Guys like Leon often are past their prime when they hit 30.

Both are still great players, but they have carried this team for years and if they slip at all, this team is old and bad. It's not just Skinner.

Sure is. 3 Oilers stop high, let two Stars get the rebound in the crease. That's good defense.

Because Connor vetoed the move. No, I am not making this up.

Oilers Nearly Pivoted in Net Before Players Intervened
The Edmonton Oilers came dangerously close to making a significant goaltending change coming out of their recent road trip. According to Frank Seravalli, the organization explored the option of calling up Connor Ingram—an insurance move aimed at stabilizing a position that has been anything but steady. But before management could pull the trigger, Oilers players stepped in, voicing their support for Calvin Pickard and advocating for him to remain with the team.

Skinner:

+1.0 GSAA

Binnington:
3.13 GAA
.880 Sv%
-6.0 GSAA

Get it done Bowman!

Would be harder to score in shinny against a bunch of 10 year olds.

However, they'll need to toss in a 1st to trade Skinner to anywhere for nothing.
He tried to pull a Roy and stormed in saying he's played his last game for the Oilers and to trade me right fn now. Then he was told "sorry bud, no you haven't. There isn't a single team willing to take you even if we toss in a 1st."
