The only rationale I can think of is that they will defund health care enough that the life expectancy is projected to decrease.
Ok Timmy, pay attention. You know what the difference between true and false is, correct? When someone says something that is not true that is called lying. Some people lie to other people to get what they want. Usually, those other people are not very smart so they don't see that the lie is not true. The liars, we call them politicians, lie so they can hold their jobs and implement demonstrably false ideologies. They do this for power and money. This is called being corrupt. Can you say corrupt? If you can't pronounce that, say Dani, or UCP. Same thing. The funny part? The stupid people could stop the bad liars if they just listened to smart people. Why don't they do that? Good question, Timmy, good question.

Better stay safe.

You are very difficult to have a conversation with. You say there isn't a shortage of firms that are less impactful than the one they chose. In that you are correct.

Sometimes you have to make the less palatable decision in your own best interests. This firm just helped get Zamdani elected. That is a pretty big deal. No matter how idealistic you may be, sometimes you have to compromise to get what is best for you family. I use Amazon and Wal-mart because other retailers don't have the product I need or they are too expensive. I cannot affored to spend more money I don't have just to support a cause, although worthwhile, is mostly performative. Should the Canadian NHL teams get rid of all American players? The Blue Jays? The Raptors?

Frankly, if the best you can do is criticize Nenshi's choice of agency for one video maybe he is doing a very good job.

You would be taken a lot more credibly if you picked a policy and explained why it is not the correct plan and why the UCP plan is better for the majority of Albertans. Then we could have a discussion. Your drive bys are lazy, and further confirm the opinion the majority of us on this board have that you are true-blue UCPer who would rather lose than admit the other guys have a good point. This is destructive of our society and leaves us all a little bit dumber.

A rational person would look at all the recall petitions from the last time they did this....3 weeks ago, and possibly consider taking a breather, since you had apparently misread the values of your constituents. Not these ####holes.

It also tells me they'll be voiding these recalls as soon as they get a moment to get around to it.

Sure, but think of all the suicides you get to have on your conscious. A person would be perhaps bothered by that, but not Queen #### You Guys.

I do wonder if a few MLA's will have pause voting for the NWC a second time, considering all the canons pointed at their jobs.

Where does it end at this point? We have a government actively bypassing due process and the courts as it is concerned for workers rights and now human rights because they feel they have a mandate to do whatever they want. If anyone thinks this is the end of it now, they better wake up.

It ends when they get ousted in a few, long years. Or maybe they get reelected because there seem to be plenty of people that are okay with this.

I just wish there were warning signs about this government being ideologically beholden to the Take Back Alberta wing of the party. Oh wait. There were many red flags.

The Wildrose takeover is complete, and then some. Any progressive or moderate conservative that enables this garbage by "voting blue sign" is complicit.

Welcome to the land of freedom and choice, where you have the freedom to choose how others get to protect themselves, so long as you dig the colour blue and support the stupidest policies on Earth.

Be sure to email your MLA, copy the premier, the justice minister, and Nenshi.

Quote:
Smith said they are following the wishes of Albertans.
Tell this #### what our wishes actually are.

You can find your MLA here:
https://www.assembly.ab.ca/members/m...ative-assembly

Justice: Calgary.Cross@assembly.ab.ca
Dumbass: premier@gov.ab.ca
Our only hope: Nenshi@albertandp.ca

Try not to use profanity or insult them individually, and certainly no threats. Blaming them for teen suicides and calling their party morally bankrupt is on side though. Go hard, don't get arrested. Most importantly, be heard. They hate that.

Most members of the Wildrose party would not agree with this at all. What the WR party stood for at that time was fiscal management, grassroots and foundational representation of MLA's, Smith promoted a compassionate policy regarding LGBTQ issues (marching in parades) I could go on and on but it was a party based on fiscal issues, rural concerns being brought to the table and also getting rid of PC Party corruption and cronyism.

The UCP and it's current form virtually has nothing in common with a lot of WR members from years ago. These ****er **ckers are drunk on power and are PC party *100 in terms of the gongshow. I think it's starting to click into a lot of supporters now

Who was it that posted Matt Jones reply for using NWC for the teacher strike?

Ask him how he feels about this now lol. Probably "but the children!" response as per usual.

Man, this thread is even more depressing than the American politics thread, if only because it’s happening right here in our own country. I’ve said it before here, but this is not the Alberta that most of us grew up in. Far from it. I just find it all so goddamn sad and disturbing. Albertans need to wake the f*** up and put an end to this s*** immediately before it’s too late and they lose everything. As we’ve seen down south, democracy is incredibly fragile and we need to fight like hell to preserve it.

That was me, but I have since replied to him with the following message. There is almost 0 chance I would get a reply after saying they will never have my vote again:

Matt,

I do want to say I appreciate your answers and you taking the time to respond to me, I have a lot of respect for that and it is appreciated.

With that said I don’t think I can reconcile with the UCP and your vote on the use of the notwithstanding clause. I believe that if it was truly the concern of only the children and their families at stake your party would have pursued binding arbitration at an earlier date.

Charter rights and their suspension is not something to be taken lightly, and I feel this was a massive overstep. I will not be able to vote for you or the UCP any longer.

Sometimes I see politicians do things and it’s just not to my liking. We just disagree, and politics is like that. Like maybe you want to change license plates or setup a dumb war room. I think it’s dumb, but governments do all kinds of dumb things.

The difference with this government is that they’re doing things I vehemently oppose. The notwithstanding clause use is so disgusting, and now they’ve used it twice. Congratulations on taking away rights from a vulnerable population. It’s actually infuriating!

And on the same day they’re putting in two-tier healthcare, which I can’t even put into words how opposed I am to this. Like I might be more upset with this government on this day than any other I can remember.

Just incredibly abhorrent and we can’t take them down soon enough.

I think technically you can call it four times, because this round is for three separate bills. It's like a ####in' punch card for them.
