Honestly it took a missed red too. That foul early in extra time was a clear red IMO, a lunging, studs up, two footed tackle on the last man back is always a straight red.

100% that was a straight red. I didn't want to complain about the ref, because I do think that Ottawa was the better team and they deserved the win. That said, that was a clear red. I also thought that there was a second yellow on Salter at one point, and that was also clear (basically a cynical foul, and that sucks that it would be a second yellow, but such is life).
I also thought that there was a run where the ref just called everything against the Cavs, and it just seemed ridiculous. Like foul after foul against Cavalry for things that he was largely letting go earlier in the match.
None of those things directly led to Ottawa's goals or win, and I hesitate even to bring them up because the brain-dead defending on the extra-time goal is what it is. You can't let that happen to you when just a minute before, they effectively tried the same thing!

You guys probably already know, there is a Cavs locker room clearout sale tomorrow night, and all Macron items including jerseys are 60% off. Too bad I can't make it tomorrow. I would love to grab some jerseys.
Anyone is going and maybe help me get some stuff? Pretty please?

The real bummer for me is the lack of Champions Cup for the Cavs. Winning the season and league is nice, but Champions Cup is the real prize. The last two go's of us in Champions Cup was ultra fun.

The exposure Sunday's game is getting the league is unreal. Highlights on Youtube have 412000 views so far compared 28000 for last year's final (10000 of which are from me).
Silver lining to watching your keeper getting posterized yet again in a big match.

MLS is moving to a winter calendar in 2027. I think that means for the first half of 2027, CPL will be the only men's pro game available. Big opportunity coming off a World Cup year....

“It was very unprofessional and a discredit to the game and effort we put in all year making it to the final,” says the forward, who describes the conditions as ridiculous.

Per Nathan Ingham on Footy Prime, TD Place was undergoing significant renovations the next day and postponing the game would have meant finding a new venue. Just not practical to postpone the game.
The better team won in the end, and the league got a tonne of eyes on the product that wouldn't have cared otherwise. Move on.

While I agree it’s no big deal and think Musse is being a whiner, the fact that Ingham is suggesting the game had to go ahead because of scheduled renovations is a big deal and makes this worse because it sounds like the players well-being and safety was put on the back burner. That’s the question that should be asked

Right, and you schedule this in mid-November in Canada and have no potential plan B? That’s ridiculous. I also don’t think that Musse is whining. You can think the better team won, and take nothing away from them while at the same time think that the game itself was not good and ought not to have been played in those conditions.

He's actually right.
As a fan it was fun to watch, and as I kid I loved playing in the snow, but that was probably a bit excessive for a league final. The NSL delayed their semi final game due to conditions that day.

Musse is right, but I also don't think that there is any benefit to saying it - everyone knows it already, so it looks like sour grapes when you're on the losing side. It can be multiple things: total bush league yet the most exposure that the league has ever had. Terrible yet equal conditions, and the better team still won.
There were likely many factors that went into the game going ahead. Broadcast schedules, these apparent renovations the next day, fans watching in person and on TV, employees/staff/crews/etc.
I don't think that postponing was ever really an option. Even if there was a "plan B", it must've been even more difficult and undesirable than pushing ahead.

I think having one truck and a bobcat to clear the field was poor planning. It should not have taken an hour to clear the field.
