That search is about as successful as the search on Oak Island.

Poilievre deserves to stay. He increased the CPC vote share to its highest ever, won a ton of seats in Ontario, and won his leadership review.
If you don't like how he "opposes this government," well you should read a bit more. It's his job and he's very good at it.
For the record, I'm not a big CPC or Poilievre guy (although I did support them in last election), but I really respect the way Poilievre has hammered on the cost of living issues faced by people under 35 in a way that Carney will never do.
We're looking at a real generational split in the way Canadians see our politics.

Personally, I hope that the CPC keeps Poilievre. There is no way he's going to win government for them, and it's clear that the populist approach he wants to take is losing steam. A couple more years of watching the US, and there will be less and less appetite for that kind of politics in Canada.
And the budget, and the CPC talking about how terrible it is, is very interesting. To me, that budget is very pro-business and basically hits everything that they wish they could've implemented. But let's face it. No political party was going to look forward to standing up and giving their budget in this current scenario. The government is spending unbelievable amounts of money. You're not going to stop that on a dime, particularly with an anemic economy where we need all the help we can get in terms of the GDP.

I actually think the populist position will grow more and more popular. Canada is facing a lot of headwinds and our elites have not proven themselves up those challenges.

LOL, he's not.
He hasn't managed to change any legislation or policy, he turned a 30% advantage into a defeat last election and he is inches away from putting the Liberals into a stronger position than under Trudeau if he loses any more MPs to them.

This is just factually incorrect. Blatantly.

Not long ago, Mark Carney could have won a Conservative Party leadership race. Today, he wouldn’t have a hope in hell. CPC partisans should probably reflect on why that is, and what it says about how the party has changed.

How dense do you have to be to think that Trump and PP are smart and doing a great job. Hahaha

This is entirely accurate. The Liberals under Carney basically have taken all the CPC policies, while Poilievre continued to blame everything on Trudeau. His policies have been enacted, but politically, he's obviously brutal.

You think repeating that did something? As opposed to opinion polling?

I mean, yes. I kind of theorize to myself that the death of Jim Prentice mirrored a kind of decline in the quality of the conservative movement in Canada. Pair that with Jason Kenney being tossed out of AB and the self-inflicted wound of tossing Erin O'Toole out of the leadership before he had a real chance to make a mark.
Poilievre is still effective. You can't deny that he hasn't had an influence on turning the country towards the right again. I will just go back to an earlier point I made that few understand. It is historically difficult for a sitting Leader of the Official Opposition to parlay that into becoming Prime Minister and it is probably doubly so for someone like Poilievre who is combative and irritating. Great qualities for Leader of the OO but maybe not for a PM?
