Maybe andersson + ? as an alternate option but I still dont think andersson has enough value to make sense.

35 year old for a 6th overall pick from a year ago? Come on man don’t try and don’t set yourself up for that type of disappointment.

Tij was Utah’s first pick ever, and strictly for his skill and family pedigree.
I’d say he’s very unlikely to be moved.

In: Parker Kelly + 2nd
I have zero inside information. I'm not syaing this trade is happening, nor am I saying I want it to happen. I don't even know who Parker Kelly is, other than he's a 26 year old center... but it's the kind of trade the Flames like to make, and I've seen nothing from this organization that convinces me we're going to do anything crazy like focus on draft picks as the primary asset coming back.

What about first round picks coming back for Lindholm, Hanifin and Markstrom?

It’s funny to read these trade proposals from fans who, if the shoe were on the other foot, would go apoplectic if the Flames were to trade one of their top prospects for a 35 year with multiple years left on his deal.

Kadri will return a 1st and a bit more if we retain, he won’t return a top prospect in any organization that is competing to win now as they need those players to enter cost controlled in the short term (1-2 years). Draft picks will come back because contenders only give up futures or cap dumps. At $7.0 million Kadri has good value with how the cap is rising over the term of his contract. Kadri can be an effective 2C for 1.5 to 2.5 years and 3C for the remainder of his contract, even the way he plays he could certainly be a very good 4C. He will return very good value for us but we will not be getting any top (1 to 3 rated) prospects from a contender. He is also the least of our problems, he would be a great 2C and then 3C on a rebuilding team if he’s happy to stay. Kadri is not a cap dump or a pending UFA, players under reasonable contracts are controlled assets, much different story than Raz.

If Flames trade Kadri then they will keep Frost. He’ll be your new #1.

I weirdly have no problem Frost, or anyone as the top line center with Hubey. All I want is to spend every expendable asset that we have to pry Svechnikov out of Carolina, and create a Svech-Zary-Coronato line that we can watch for the next five years.

Kadri to canucks makes a ton of sense, and i would love to get their 1st + a prospect.
Not sure how you make the cap work. I sure as he'll done want Kane coming back the other way.

Feels like Friedman has been phoning it in on his recent comments about the Flames. First the 'danger zone' thing, which kind of just sounded like hot air to me. Now I'm seeing him talking about how the Flames won't trade before he plays his 1,000th game... 6 games from now.
Me thinks he actually has nothing to report on Calgary but Sportsnet just insisted he needs to mention every Canadian team.

The Avs gave up a grade A prospect in Calum Ritchie, plus Kylington, a conditional 1st, and a conditional 3rd to land 33 year-old Brock Nelson at the TDL last season.

This is exactly correct. And if you listen carefully, I’d actually up the ante and say 95% of everything he says is not worth listening to.
It’s sort of like Ron Maclean except Ron is somehow even worse because he’s not even on topic ever, or if he decides to talk hockey he’s steering it to Connor McDavid 99% of the time.

I think the moment Tij’s name comes out of Conroy’s mouth , the ask would probably start with a P and not an A…

Colorado followed the trade up by re-signing Nelson to a three-year contract worth $500,000 more per year than what Kadri is being paid. Kadri's contract is not the anchor some posters think it is.

I don’t understand the criticism of him
He’s generally regarded as one of the most connected people and has broken several stories.
He’s one of the true insiders out there
