If you post a picture of your installation, I can offer some advice as to how the counter flashing, roof membrane, etc., should be installed.

I have had a hard time putting pictures on this website before so I might try later but they did run the modified bitumen up the chimney a good amount and water sealed the top edge. I have looked for information online and found similar pictures as the other poster.
It appears they didn't add this 45 degree wedge shown in the diagrams they just ran it up the chimney and caulked/ tared the top edge.
There is no counter flashing and they think its finished, I went on google maps and founds lots of similar roofline houses in charleswood showing same roof with with counter flashing.
The other problem I had was beside the piece that runs along the ridge they didn't overlap the layers so there is a small probably 0.5 inch of smaller gap where the roofing material isn't covering the base layer. On both sies of the rdige extending multiple feet, they came back and put tar in it so its " sealed " for now but I just bought a new roof I don't really feel thats proper.
when the gap was open it rained and the roof SBS was bubbling in some spots which they did come and press down but I was trying to press it down with my foot and a whole bunch of water came out from leaking in at the ridge.
