I thought Gojira was way better than Korn. Their set list was amazing. Incredible live band.

I disagree. I thought Korn top to bottom was just a little better only because Joe's voice doesn't carry well in an arena. Mario was incredible though and nobody can question their musicianship. I just felt Jonathan's vocals carried better and Korn's sound was just as tight. Loathe sounded pretty bad though as I had seen them in a small venue in Seattle last year and they sounded much better.

I have that CD, too. Sound quality is amazing. I wish every concert had that where you could buy the audio of the show right then and there. They had the CDs burned and packaged within about 15 minutes of it ending. It is probably my most treasured CD.

I even like hearing them talk about their New Balance shoes before one of the songs haha.

Yeah, they cost a lot, but they are totally worth it.

Saw Apocalyptica, Lindsey Stirling, and Halestorm last night. Went for Lindsey Stirling and had never heard a single Halestorm song before - holy crap can Lzzy Hale sing. Probably one of the most naturally powerful vocalists I have ever seen live. Great show.

Lizzy Hale was the best vocalist at the Ozzy tribute show this summer, not a huge fan of the band/songs but she's incredible.

How has the turnout for that show? I was kinda surprised to see they were playing the dome.

Yeah she blew the roof off the building. Just incredible.

I was also surprised it was at the dome but I guess with the three acts they figured they'd get numbers. It was pretty sparse for Apocalyptica (another surprise - I wasn't sold on the idea of Finnish metal with cellos but they were great) but they went on stage at 6:30 so most people weren't there yet. I think the crowd peaked for Lindsey Stirling and it looked like the building was maybe 3/4 full. By the end of Halestorm's set it had thinned out considerably - I think a lot of people with families came with their kids for LS then left after.

That was a great show! I went hoping to see LS and Halestorm do "Shatter Me" live, and I was not disappointed at all.


I arrived a bit late (rushing to the 'Dome post-work) so missed about half of Apocalypitca's set, but was very pleasantly surprised by what I did hear from them and am looking more into them. I overheard a lady behind me saying "Man, they do Metallica better than Metallica does"...

Tickets for Offspring and Bad Religion at the Dome go on sale tomorrow, I believe. I can't fricken wait. I've seen Bad Religion more than any other band and I'd see them 100 times more if I could. I've only seen Offspring once (at Max Bell) and they put on a great show, too.

So stoked. My Bad Religion concert shirt from the 90s is threadbare now. I've had that sucker 30 years, so I'm looking forward to buying a replacement.

I got my tickets yesterday for the Offspring show. So excited. I'm taking all of kids. They all grew up having to listen to them. It should be a fun show.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the offspring live even though they’re a little long in the tooth and I haven’t listened to any album they’ve put out in the last 25 years. Their recent setlists suggest only about 1/3 of the show will be smash or Ixnay. But no s/t and no ignition.

This feels like a wait till the day of the concert and buy a ticket cheap kind of show. I don’t think I can justify spending $200 to see six songs with a bunch of filler.

Bad Religion makes it a little bit easier to stomach though.

Offspring seems to have been getting bigger after their last tour. I was really lucky to see them with simple plan at Grey eagle in '22 on their "let the bad times roll" tour.

Super charged was a much better album than their last one, so thay may be contributing. I noticed they were playing mostly sold out arenas on this tour in the US. Even the non calgary shows on that last tour 3 years ago was only selling the lower bowl of hockey arenas. So basically 4-5k tops.

I love offspring crowds on the floor. Everyone still dances and moshes and has a really fun time. Unlike a lot of geriatric crowds of 90's/2000's bands that stand still and stare at the band while they play.

Sum 41 and Billy talent are two other bands where the crowds still go crazy on the floor and make it a lot of fun.

Yeah, I have twin 28 year olds and a 15 year old. I just took the 15 year old to Korn. I took one of the 28 year olds last year to Evanescence. His brother lives in Van and I just went to visit him and see the Linkin Park concert.

Who's playing first? I loved Bad Religion back in the day and I think there are good Offspring songs, but I'd rather stick hot pokers in my ears than hear "Pretty Fly For a White Guy" again.

That was the night in 2004 when the Flames won game 7 in Vancouver. Somewhere in the set Lovering says “how about those Flames?”

After the show I went in the Den to see Cooke score at the end of regulation to tie the game. I was so mad I decided to drive home. Later we heard all these cars honking and realized the Flames won. That might have been the first night of the Red Mile.

Lol. This an Offspring "supercharged" tour to support their album. Bad Religion is a much smaller touring act and opening select parts of the tour, including the Canadian dates.

Of note for those thinking about it is that lead singer Dexter Holland has undergone an incredible transformation in recent years from the terrible singing shows of 2010-2017 where he was over weight and out of breath, not able to hit notes, and they had dropped from arenas to 2000-4000 music halls out of nowhere. He's continually slimmed down and got in really great singing shape the last few years. They look way more healthy and on as a band these days. They're definitely growing in popularity recently (huge new artists have performed with them and cited them as major influences on their music, including Ed Sheeran and Youngblud, and for good reason). They put on an incredible show and the fans tend to match that energy with lots of dancing and moshing.
