Also I was able to get tickets to one of Ariana Grande's shows in London next year.
Apparently scalping is illegal there (?) so no scalpers to contend with. Kind of wish we had that in Canada. There's also rumours she may get all the resale tickets cancelled so they can be resold.
She'll probably add Toronto and Vancouver shows to the tour but I've at least got something if nothing else works out.

I'll have to figure this out a little as I happen to be in London during Radiohead's upcoming 4 night residency- I didn't get a sale code (tried) but hoping for some above board options leading up (or day of) ..only need one seat! we'll see....

Fun show. So stoked they played Hope. Was really wishing for I'm not a Loser, but guess it wasn't meant to be. Such a great show, though. I've missed them when they've been in Calgary before and I had tickets to them in Edmonton a few years ago, but I got called away on a family emergency and missed it. They're a big band for me and I'm so happy I've finally seen them.
Something just hits right every time at Mac Hall, too.

I went. I’ve seen them and Buzzcocks before but I’ll see them every chance I can.
I disagree about Mac Hall. Horrible venue. We spent most of the concert out back where the sound sucked less. Probably a getting old thing.

Meh, I'm old, too. I thought the sound was great (was also lurking in the back whereas I usually try to stand by the sound board or whatever that situation is in the centre with all the controls).
Buzzcocks were great, too.
But you really didn't like the sound? That's interesting. I thought it was crystal clear...was so impressed with the Descendents live. For a while I was at the back wall, but the bass was hammering too hard right there, so moving up ~15' was a sweet spot.

It’s just a bad room for sound. I’ve definitely heard worse shows there. Last time they were in town I was by the sound board and the sound guy said something like I was blasphemous for wearing earplugs. It’s not like I enjoy wearing them but I’d like to keep my already diminished hearing.

lol, earplug shaming you? What a tit that guy was. I have them in at every show. I sometimes take them out for my favourite songs, but then they're right back in.

I was there and really liked it too. I saw a bunch of kids singing along to all the songs, which I found interesting. Pretty cool how the demographics change at these old punk shows.
I remember one time years ago I saw Lagwagon and their singer said something to the effect of "Our regular drummer isn't here right now because he's an accountant and it's tax season" haha.

They say earplugs that are made for concerts, have you guys tried those? They keep a lot of the fidelity and just lower the volume. I use them regularly and love them.
I have some musician friends that never go to a concert without earplugs. Sound guys should know better, but they’re probably ####ty sound guys with bad hearing.

I use the Loop Switch 2 now and I had the Etymotic ER20s for a long time before that. I’m like Sliver and take them out occasionally if I want the full experience for a song, but I can still enjoy a show with them in.
I hope the sound guy who chastised me isn’t dealing with tinnitus or major hearing loss, because it’s really not worth it just to be seen as a “real punk”.
I tried the Loop Experience but they were too much attenuation for me, made things too quiet and too much detail loss.
I had some $ left in my health spending account so I got a set of Minuendo adjustable ones and I liked those, I could adjust them to get the level I wanted, or at least close. Super expensive tho not sure I'd buy them with my own $.

Gojira and Korn were highly entertaining. Loathe wasn’t bad either.
Gojira are a hell of a band even if not my fav music.
Jon sounded great and the band had good energy. Head seemed a little withdrawn hiding behind a speaker tower most of the show with his hoodie up but Munky, Jon, Ray and the new Fieldy all looked like they were having a lot of fun. Munky especially stayed on stage for several minutes after the show interacting with the crowd. He seemed really happy to be playing a packed house again.
Another young crowd. Crazy all these kids getting super into Korn. Half of the pit looked like they weren’t born yet in 2000 when I last saw Korn.
Never seen so many people thrown out. At least 3 maybe 4 people had to be dragged out of the pit by security including a guy who looked like and was as big as the Chief from One Flew over the ####oos nest. And he did not go quietly into the good night. As soon as security grabbed him he went down swinging.
And shoutout for the small blond woman in the pit dressed like she just came from a business dinner. She was ####ing givin’ er and I’m surprised she survived that circle pit glasses in tact. It was hilarious. She was rowdier than half the gen Zers.

Was one of the best Dome concerts I've seen in a long time since maybe the 80's rivalling AC/DC Back in Black or Iron Maiden Powerslave. Gojira was as advertised and I thought Korn may have a difficult task following up but they were on par and maybe the most crowd engagement I have ever seen for a metal concert. Not an empty seat in the house. As Cecil said, not an old crowd by any means as a good mix of young and old as there certainly seems to be a bit of a Nu metal revival with the younger generation.

I recall Ween saying they loved the sound there, and played for 3 hours.
I have a live CD of the Pixies at Mac Hall that sounds pretty good.

Yeah, that was quite fun, I even saw a wall of death down on the floor during Gojira. I've always liked them, but damn they sure deliver live.
The new Fieldy actually has a better bass tone, less clack and you could actually hear his bottom end, no complaints there. I was actually amazed at how animated both Munky and Head were on stage, they've played so many shows and a lot of those songs countless times but they didn't shortchange anyone. Ray Luzier is a pro, was perfect for the gig when they hired him. Jonathan sounded good, he has a limited vocal range and isn't even really a traditional singer but you have to respect what he's done.
I can't belive these guys have 14 albums, a few of those completely ignored in the setlist but they included more than a few from 1994 so that was fine with me.

Ween were great live. I'd like them to come back but doubt it will happen.
I have that CD too, along with one from the Edmonton show. I wish more bands offered concert recordings. Pearl Jam does on their website. I've bought recordings of the three shows I've been to. That's another band that's overdue to play here.
They record that right off the soundboard so room acoustics don't matter much. I still enjoy shows at Mac Hall but it could sound better.
