Softball questions to Schneider. Where is the NY press? Or Toronto press that isn’t afraid to ask the questions fans want to hear answers too. It it starts with 3 Jays reporters.

Finally someone (NY) asks about walking Judge instead of pitching to to him. Hollow answer because he walked him next AB. And now someone finally asks about Beiber.

I’ll also take some of the blame. I was relishing in the dejected Yankee Porn to start the 4th as they showed shots of the crowd.

Started thinking about how sweet the sweep would feel and looking forward to all the pitchforks and whinging from the Yankee media.

Oh well. Bluejays and flames back to back tomorrow. Expecting the worse but hope for the best!

Sorry new fan again, why not walk Judge on that at bat where he hit the pole? Loads the bases?

Yeah, for sure. I agree with a lot of that. The reason for a lot of the problems (Drastically increased incidents of Tommy John surgery etc) is the relentless strive for more velocity. That’s why you see high school/college kids literally getting preemptive TJ surgeries.

Very few kids are pitchers these days who are actual “pitchers” (like Greg Maddux, Chris Bassit types etc), Nowadays they just want to smoke it across the plate. That’s a cultural thing within baseball that has happened over the decades. It’s unfortunate. I miss an artist like Mark Buehrle. That guy could PITCH

Relief pitchers often rely on max effort pitching to allow them to be successful with 2 or maybe 3 types of pitches. If they aren’t able to give 100%, their performance can be significantly impacted because a 2-3 MPH loss or a small change in the movement could make them extremely hittable as well as putting them at significant risk of injury.
And all that more than ever because of the spin rates everyone is trying to get on their pitches

Disappointing. But you knew the Yankees weren't going down without a fight.

Get back out there tomorrow and get it done!

Yeah - it would have put the go ahead run at the plate. It wouldn’t have been the very worst idea if there were two outs but I think with one out, they wanted to avoid a setting up a really big inning with Rice and Stanton to come.

Yeah loaded bases but you prevent the best power hitter in the league from tying the game. If it’s Cody Bellinger so be it. Schenider walked him intentionally 7 times this season and did it later this game.

Reminds me of the time when Matt Chapman ripped Schneider in the dugout for pitching to Ohtani when Ohtani hit 3HR.

Rice has not been good though.

Did I hear that they Jays were 35-0 this year with a 5 run lead? They said it on sportsnet after the game but not sure I heard it right

And the defense decided to do their best impression of the Yankees.

It’s definitely a tough call. Walking him would have created a situation where a double would have tied the game while pitching to him needed a home run to tie the game. I think Rice or Stanton hitting an extra base hit is more likely than Judge hitting a home run (although it is really, really close). I think the fact that there weren’t two outs made the difference.

You are correct but it wasn’t just Rice. With less than two outs, they also were thinking about Stanton.

I think that's at least as much on Schneider as it is on Barger. I'm as big a Davis fan as anyone else, but you're the outfielder, if you can get to the ball you call the infielder off. If he's calling for it you call him off louder.

Barger’s angle on that ball was never going to be as good as Schneider’s and Schneider should have called him off especially considering that the wind had picked up which would have made it extra tricky for an infielder to make the play.

Regardless of who's ball it was. The ball was completely in bargers glove. This didn't clang off his heel. He didn't miss it. It was in his glove and out. He couldn't squeeze it. Just brutal stuff.
