He did have a number of solid outings down the stretch too, which balanced out a tough start.

Flames were a different team in front of Vlad than Wolf so his games were a different beast and he usually rose to the occasion.

And if he did have a stinker period he would bounce back with a solid one. Resilient goalie, and a good backup. I wouldnt have him as more than that though.
Vladar seemed to play better when there was less time in between games played and not if he had to come in cold. I really hope he does well in Philly with likely more games to start on a regular basis.

I would be very happy with this result. Its McKenna's draft year FFS. Remember last time it was McDavid's draft year?

I get your point but I also don't think he's anywhere near McDavid's level.
I think you are talking about someone, who's top end is an elite winger like Kucherov, Kane, Kaprizov.
Which is a damn fine piece to add to be sure.

It'd be a very Flamesy thing to happen in that the year they finally win the draft lottery, the best player available is a Left shot left wing and their left shot left wing depth is their organization strength.

I mean you still take him. but it's funny.

The flames need more than one elite piece
McKenna is a good start

I definitely think with the draft, sometimes someone will come from out of nowhere in their draft year and move way up the board. One recent one I can think of Nico Hischier. If we added a player like that to the team, it would be amazing.

Agreed, you change your roster around a generational talent. Laughable to make that excuse.

Yeah we already had Lindholm, wasnt amazing. Hischier is a Tier 2 or 3 #1c

What makes Hischier in his draft year that much more impressive than Reschny?

Sorry for the late reply. I searched to find the exact interview that I was looking for (and unfortunately, it is a facebook video.. sigh). He mentions not having any consistent goalie coaching until he went to the USHL at 18 or 19.

He talks about it at around the 3:50 mark.

Button sucks. I'll never forgive him for giving Savard away when we were soooooo desperate for offence.

Some of you over hype his play and downplay how the Flames played as a team
I know he is no longer a Flame so you have to flame him but he is exactly what we need right now.
