Dumpsaitl will be all on his lonesome in Bumonton soon, for 7 years to toil with a regressing, prospect-less oilers team. Poor guy.

Hopefully he can still crack 100 points for all 8 contract years as villiagegoof guaranteed us, even without those sweet McTapIns.

Not sure what comments exactly lead me to be an Oilers fan.
I thought my comment about Draisatl was fair. Clearly none of you lived through the dark Gretzky era if you think my posts are too edgy. Granted, that was pre-internet so perhaps it wasnt as bad.
You cannot compare todays Greasers with the Gretzky era, Gretzky was a winner, his teams won stuff

No... Messier was a winner. Messier's teams won stuff.

Gretzky never won a cup after he left Edmonton. Messier won one more after Gretzky left, and then another one with the Rangers. You know who also went to the Ragners to win a cup, but didn't win anything? Wayne Gretzky.

Messier is also the most well known captain of the Vancouver Canucks. I can’t even remember which Sedin was captain, their current captain is probably Hughes. Maybe Linden is the 2nd most well known captain, but everyone remembers Messier.

Smyl, Linden or Naslund are the ones I think of first.

17 points in 5 games isn’t almost 4 PPG, it’s 3.4.

Unless that’s the new math.

I'm not 100% clear as to why, but Dumpsaitl seems particularly clever and funny

The problem isn't just the amount Draisaitl is getting paid, it's the fact he turns 30 this year. There zero chance that contract doesn't contain multiple years of absolute awfulness. Sure it could be fair for the next few years, but will it be for the multiple post 35 years? Players that rely on speed and strength typically don't have longevity. Draisaitl needs to be a complete anomaly for this contract not to be bad.

Despite supposedly playing on another line, over 50% of his points last year (playoffs + regular season) had a shared point with McDavid... even though mcdavid missed about fifteen games last year.

70 / 139

To put this into some perspective, 2009 Malkin had a shared point with Crosby on 44.96% of his points -

67 / 149

Draisaitl's a good top line player, but to say his stats are a little inflated from playing on Connor's team wouldn't be an understatement.
