It might sound petty, but my order of preference is : Cavalry > anyone but Forge > an upset by any other CPL team (even Ottawa) > MLS. So…. Let’s go Abbotsfordians!

Langleydians I believe.

They should have gone with Langliens. Missed branding opportunity.

Josh Simpson criticized the city of Langford in a recent interview, so the city of Langford responded by providing an itemized list of the outstanding debts that Pacific owe them, including:
- $90,000 in arrears on unpaid office rent and stadium rentals
- The $1 per ticket service charge for all 2025 home games
- $691,477 on the Indoor Training agreement
- $24,000 to the city's field operator and food/beverage provider

Amazing day for a game - except the start time. The main stand is going to be blasted in direct 28 degree sun for the entirety of it. But also, it could be a snow day this time of year, so hard to complain too much.

Big win for the Cavs and they’re playoff bound! A couple nice goals and big saves today to put Valour away 3-0.

Celebrated Square Root Day
|
23554 attendance for the stamps. Thats good for present day. First non labor day/riders game in a long time and shows some of those fans came out again. And from.what I saw no real major give aways or huge price cuts like previous games..

Get your hand egg talk out of the football thread.
Related though - Cavalry pulled in 4789 yesterday. That's about what it felt like, to be honest. Decent crowd, beautiful day.
For being 27 or 28 degrees, it actually didn't feel that hot as the sun feels lower and less intense at this time of year.
The match and result are what you'd expect from a home match vs. Valour. Not edge of your seat stuff, but generally dominant and satisfying. After the first minute scare, of course.
It is hard to believe that we've just got one more home match to go in the regular season.

Great weather, big crowd, fun vibes in the stands, 3 points.
The bus from the Ship and Anchor had 45 more people then seats so ended up taking the bus from the E&C, which was also full. Glad to see how popular those are.

Yeah I was glad to be totally wrong on this one! The car said 30.0C on the way down.
There was a skiff of cloud which was great to make the glare not too intense, and it definitely didn't feel like those evening mid summer games where everyone crowds the top of the stand and all the seats are sweat puddles.

Due to some health issues I’ve had to watch the last few home games from home. All that to say, the stands looked fun and lively on a beautiful early fall afternoon!
Won’t have any detailed write ups this week. Maybe I’ll be able to do one of the road games
Cavs are trending very much in the right direction at the right time of year. Excellent to see

Looks like York United are now going to be Inter Toronto FC.
I'm sure one or two more rebrands will magically get people to buy tickets when they haven't thus far.

They need to move. Their location is atrocious.

Montreal club officially announced on the league website. Will play at Stade Boreale in Laval sharing with the Roses of NSL.
Tonight they'll announce the club name.

I won't complain about the league growing, but putting teams in cities with MLS teams has been a failing model.

On the flip side, there is a real opportunity to steal the soccer crowd as Montreal fans hate the Saputos. So it'll be interesting to see how this plays out
I assume CF Montreal still owns the Impact rights? That would be wild if they could use that name

This league will expand wherever there is a deep pocketed owner who wants a club and a suitable stadium. That's what is preventing them from expanding anywhere else. Once the Roses upgraded the stadium it was academic.
There is a lot of apathy towards CF Montreal right now and it feels like some are desperate to jump to supporting a new club. So if there was ever a time to do it, it's now.
But they have to do it right. York and Vancouver put out very poor game day experiences with poor results on the pitch and people have rejected those clubs.
