Too bad both couldn't get a couple of starts in before the trade deadline so they could trade those two band aids. Both can pitch, but between the two of them you can't eek out 35 starts a year.

Thats for sure, the Jays seem to have the ability to trade / sign players who are injury prone.

Jays looking to sweep the Twins today to get to 51-50
The Jays just had an 11-run 6th inning to bring the score to 13-1!
Litsch was on the mound, by the way.

Well thats the game. Good game by Zaun and the Blue Jays. They are finally over the .500 mark and are making a run. Is this too little too late though? The bats and the pitching broke out this series, they showed how dominant this team can be. Everything in this series seem to come together. Lets hope they can now go on a run and mke things down the stretch interesting.

Not sure, but the Jays are pretty close to the Yankee's in the standings. For the Jays to have a chance at a Wild Card spot, I would guess the Marniers and Indians need to go on a losing streak.

Yankees are 54-44. Since their annual early season tailspin, the Yankees have been crazy good. Coming into today the Jays were 8 games back of the Tribe.

I believe the Yankees are 53-46, Jays were 3 1/2 games back of them. With today's win they are 3 games back but still behind the Marniers and Indians as well.

Ooops, I saw the Mariners record. My mistake.
4 games in the loss column behind the Yankees, 6 behind the Mariners, 8 behind the Tribe.
The Jays need to dominate for the next bit.

I stick by my prediction that the Yankees will swoop in and win the Wild Card. The Jays current pitching is on a nice run, but won't hold up like this through August and September, and the offence is too hit and miss.
The Jays have a chance here with the upcoming opposition to put together the run they need to close some ground though. Chicago, Tampa, and Texas. They just have to learn how to beat Texas....

Well 5 a row isn't that bad at all, but still a ton of work to do just to get back in the race. Two series coming up, both that the Jays should come out of over .500

Quick question...we're heading to TO for the August Long Weekend and are catching the Sunday game vs. Rangers and the Monday game vs. the Yankees. I'm trying to figure out who the starting Jays pitchers will be?? Seeing as the how rotation seems a little erratic right now w/ Litsch pitching and Burnett almost ready to come back.
I've got the rotation as Halliday / Marcum / McGowan / Towers / Litsch...counting the games I've got the Ranger game as McGowan and NYY game as either Halliday or Litsch.
Anyone know when AJ Burnett is coming back??

I don't know when Burnett is coming back, but I think Towers and Litsch are mixed up for you. Right now it's set up to go Halladay, Markum, McGowan, Litsch, Towers. I also saw yesterday that the Jays optioned Chacin to AAA to get some work in so he could be ready to return soon as well.

Fart. Johnny Mac should be a gold glove candidate. 3 defensive gems tonight including one to save the game in the 10th so far.

No doubt man! No wonder Clayton is riding pine these days.
It's too bad he has such a light bat though.

This game shouldn't have gone to extras. Would it really have been *that* hard to LOOK over even once or throw over to 1B with Crawford, who you know is going to try to swipe a bag?
This isn't entirely the catchers fault, this throwing out runners problem. Holding the runners is a team game.
