Charlie Kirk was human garbage for a number of reasons, but the biggest was because he fostered hate in order to make money. From bigotry to school shootings, he was your guy.

Nobody should be assassinated. When it's a political figure, no matter how repugnant, it's an assault on democracy.

But when you foster hate openly and repeatedly, there will usually be consequences.

I hope his wife and children learn from his example.

We're all much better off that his voice is now silenced forever.

“If you gave Falwell an enema, he could have been buried in a matchbox.” - Christopher Hitchens

Seems as fitting for Kirk as it was at the time for the senior Falwell. Looking back, there are a number of criticisms that fit rather nicely for both of them, given the sort of demagoguery they both dealt in as part of their life’s work.

I do hope this is the sort of “appreciation” that The Fonz was looking for, it’s about all he’s worth.

If you’re attending the vigil, don’t forget to look for sales on white bed sheets if you’re in need of uniform.

Dude, don't drag me into that one. I was mired in Moria, and I've got some whip burns from the Balrog to prove it. Turns out they don't actually have any clay down there.

Certainly doesn't sound like his wife will.

Yeah, that is a solid point and its sad.

But it goes both ways.

Look at how the lefties are downplaying and making light of a father getting executed publicly in front of his family right here in this thread.

Practice what you preach, then, perhaps? If you want to speak from a moral high ground.

Dec 2023 at America Fest, Charlie Kirk said, “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s."

Nothing more boring than an enlightened centrist.

Charlie Kirk stated that empathy was a new age made up word that does a lot of damage. Charlie Kirk said it's worth the cost of gun deaths every year so that he and American can have the 2nd amendment. Sorry if we're simply being respectful to his beliefs. I have no empathy for his death and think his death is needed to protect the 2nd amendment in America. Charlie would be proud of me for holding his values in his death.

Did she get the news update before this? Who is she lashing out against? Why will the world care? Get over yourself. Almost 50,000 Americans die by gun violence every year, your husband isn't special. Your husband advocated for polices that led to this. I know it's all a little fresh, but damn. Maybe lay low and reflect a little. Or, you know, threaten all humanity. Either way I guess.

Kirk did preach that kids should have to watch public executions.

Using divisive language like “lefties” sure isn’t helping anything either, if you’re trying to help…

Responding to percieved hate with your own vile statements doesn't seem like something the influencers on your side of the fence would condone.

His POV and influence may have been detrimental in your view and that of many. But two egregious points of view don't make a right one.

Kind of a soulless response. Is that what you'd say to his daughters if they were in the room?

Basically–your dad had it coming and you should learn from his mistake?

Again, just setting a glowing example of your superior moral fiber here...

Didn't agree with Kirk on 98% of what he claimed, but his detractors arent scoring points here if they're supposed to the "humane" ones speaking reason.

I think you left your humanity at the door. You were probably better off saying nothing. You know that's always an option. Instead you took your own page out of the human garbage playbook. Nice.

Charlie Kirk is the new Horst Wessel.

Someone will write a song about him and it'll be sung at rallies.

Default Charlie Kirk Appreciation Thread

The American Politics thread where this is being discussed at length, is absolutely ghoulish and filled with such hate and disgusting comments. It’s literally repulsive how sick in the head people can be.

The ironic thing is that everyone there calling him a Nazi and fascist, is exactly the extreme and dangerous language that contributes to political violence.

People can’t even express their political opinions anymore without being labeled with these terms, which in turn, motivates these psycho lone wolf shooters in thinking that murdering someone with a dissenting “hateful” opinion is a righteous cause.

And beyond that, it’s not even clear what a “Nazi” or “fascist” even means these days. You have people on both sides of the political spectrum labeling the other as such.

It creates such a dangerous environment where there can’t even be peaceful and dissenting political discourse.

“It’s not even clear what Nazi and fascist means these days!”

Nah, it’s actually pretty clear what they mean and who they apply to.
