Alright, I can take half a step back and acknowledge what this would look like to someone that doesn't know who he is, doesn't follow US politics, doesn't understand how far down the road to facism that country has fallen, and just sees the current discussion. They might be a little taken aback.

To those people I just say, catch up on the current events and the context surrounding all of this before piping up with what you think is the moral high ground and start defending Nazis.

And I don't use that term lightly. This isn't the 'oh anyone I disagree with is a Nazi' this is literally stuff out of the Nazi playbook being enacted, and has been spread and normalized by people like Kirk

And before someone says I'm exaggerating, the question he was answering at the exact moment he got shot was about transgender people committing mass shootings, which is becoming a US fascist talking point regarding banning transgender people from owning firearms. (Of course the vast, vast majority of mass shootings are committed by straight white men)

Disarming a political scapegoat so they can't defend themselves when you start rounding them up? Where have we seen that before?

I agree people should not be celebrating the death of someone but a lot of this thread is just pointing out the irony of a guy who believed empathy was weekness and who believed that the gun deaths were an inevitable and acceptable part of the 2nd amendment was killed by a gun and has people complaining about the lack of empathy being shown.
