I'm now worried we're going to see the administration actually do what Stephen Miller has said: declare the Democrats a terror organization.
Charlie Kirk was a rage farmer. I, for one, am not surprised that rage grew around him.

That’s what you were talking about? People not caring because the latest victim of gun violence in America was a huge proponent of normalizing gun violence in America as “worth it”?
Here I thought you might be referring to the posters who actually said terrible things about and wished violence on other posters here. But I guess those guys are on the same side as you politically so you just glossed over them.

No one on the left calls themselves the "Tolerant Left". Some right wing nonsense, so shut up.
My great grandfather didn't shed a tear when he heard Josef Goebbels was dead, and neither shall I.
I do fear for the impending aftermath of this event - but, i am sure you will be getting your rocks off on it

I’m not going to be losing sleep on Kirk dying. He’s always been a POS. But the answer to horrible ideas is not to “shoot them in the neck.”
The US is slowly dying. Cries for help.

There are several differences. The most important - in this case - is this right-wing bomboclaat was pro second amendment, was against empathy and argued that gun deaths were a rational and reasonable trade-off for unfettered access to firearms. He got shot while arguing in favour of accepting gun violence and murder so people could maintain access to firearms.
Yes, if somebody from the left side of the political spectrum was a strong advocate for gun rights, downplayed lives lost to gun violence and mocked empathy as woke I would certainly acknowledge the irony and I would get a kick out of anyone clutching their pearls over it.
It's also different given the right's absolute indifference to gun deaths and their obstruction and prevention of any solutions to the problem of gun violence in the States. Kirk embodied this along with the other right-wingers flapping around in hysterics over this considering their insincere 'thoughts and prayers' reactions to every other outrageous shooting.
That you and others can't see any of that (which is painfully obvious, intuitive and self evident to the rest of us) is a blessing of this thread. I appreciate you.

Speaker Mike Johnson paused the House in the middle of a series of votes to call for a moment of silence and prayer for Charlie Kirk. When Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado asked for someone to lead a prayer aloud, several Democrats objected, pointing out that the House had not given a school shooting in Colorado on Wednesday the same treatment. Anna Paulina Luna, a Florida Republican who is close to Kirk, then began shouting angrily at the other side of aisle.

Charlie Kirk was quite happy -- and expressed as much and without reservation -- to trade the occasional gun death here and there in exchange for maintaining the second amendment and preventing any legislation that may reduce its scope or otherwise infringe upon it.
If anything, today's a celebration of his life's work.

Still no updates on a suspect?
I pretty much have zero knowledge when it comes to ballistics and shooting, but last I heard they said he was shot from about 200 yards. I know that's not a super long range for a rifle but as far as assassinations go that's further than most notable ones in history?

Kirk yesterday: "Some people will need to die to protect the 2nd amendment."
Kirk today: "NO NO NOT LIKE THAT"
I dont' condone violence in the slightest, but the irony of his message is dripping.

Once upon a time people (adults) were able to meet and debate their views respectfully and diplomatically without hiding guns under their coats.
Now we have echo chambers congregating separately in rally settings riling each other up to the point where they reach the conclusion that the other group is to blame for all of their life's problem. Stoking hatred and polarizing views because they're only sharing in the company of people with the same or similar views.
The proclivity for violence isn't restricted to one group or the other. It's a result of a loss of civility, partly borne out of the ruthless culture that the internet has bred, wedged further by COVID and the division that sowed in the US. And now stoked by a dictatorship-aspiring President.
I think the "sheeple" are those that don't recognize that this is what's happening on a broader scale cause they're too eyeballs deep in whatever their camp's latest finger-pointing rhetoric is.
Think. For. Yourself.
You don't need religion as your basis to align with strong moral ideals either.

Anyway, since the right are the biggest purveyors of conspiracies, top two contenders so far are the usual suspects, CIA or Israel.
