Just reported they have a person of interest in custody that’s not the older man.

Trump Ally Charlie Kirk Suggests Children Should Watch Public Executions
https://www.newsweek.com/charlie-kir...utions-1873073

Man, this guy wrote all his own headlines, didn't he?

Quote:
"Death penalties should be public, should be quick, it should be televised. I think at a certain age, its an initiation...What age should you start to see public executions?" Kirk asked.

I'm sure someone brought their kids to this event. So he got what he advocated for, yet it's us "leftists" who are the awful people.

At times like this, it's important to remember what a disgusting paedophile Trump is.

Deep down Trump is thrilled Epstein and the birthday card is out of the news cycle for a few days.

For those whose pearls have been clutched I present to you the TexAgs thread on this same subject. This is of course the Texas A&M forum

https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3558533

Now I don’t want to tell tales out of school but that thread is mostly people asking if the shooter is trans, that whomever it was should be waterboarded and/or tortured to death, that the liberals are all violent hate mongers who preach death, that the solution to this is to label democrats as a terrorist organization, and that this was worse than MLK because MLK both didn't live a Christian life and was a commie.

Just on the off chance anyone wanted to have a glimpse at how the other half lives

The proclivity for violence isn't restricted to one group or the other. It's a result of a loss of civility, partly borne out of the ruthless culture that the internet has bred, wedged further by COVID and the division that sowed in the US. And now stoked by a dictatorship-aspiring President.

I think the "sheeple" are those that don't recognize that this is what's happening on a broader scale cause they're too eyeballs deep in whatever their camp's latest finger-pointing rhetoric is.

Think. For. Yourself.

You don't need religion as your basis to align with strong moral ideals either.
Well said.

I think Kirk's political views were abhorrent and I get that his recent statements on shootings & 2nd amendment rights were very FAFO in hindsight. But I can't see this as a reason to celebrate, this will only lead to further political violence.

Wait actually? One is run by Trump and the other, I assume Kirk was a big Israel supporter... not that it's supposed to make sense I guess.

Charlie Kirk is Adolf Hitler levels of pure evil. It ain't politics to say good riddance to a fascist propagandist.

Sounds straight out of Posobiec/Lisec’s “Unhumans”. Even Dan Crenshaw thinks they’re nuts.

There was always going to be further political violence if the events of today didn't take place. We've been set on this path for some time.

It is very unlikely there is a way back any time soon.

The fundamental nature of a resilient democracy and true freedom of speech is that you can 100% disagree and hate everything someone says, but will still defend their ability to say it.

The fact that someone was killed for publicly stating their opinion highlights the brittle state of American discourse.

Frodo: 'It's a pity Bilbo didn't kill Gollum when he had the chance.'

Gandalf: 'Pity? It's a pity that stayed Bilbo's hand. Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them, Frodo? Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

Eh eh, we do not know any reason whatsoever why he was killed. You’re assuming it was due to political differences. While it may possibly be the case it is far from a fact at this time.

Big difference between people having no empathy for someone that has made a career out of creating and spreading hate and "cheering it on" but you do you "right wing scum".

Don't let the door hit you and all that.

There's a strong difference between sharing an opinion and publicly advocating for Christofacisim to take over the country, while fomenting hatred and cheering on violence to achieve those goals, and giving your followers the comradarie to do it.

I will not defend a persons "right" to do these sorts of things. Fortunately in Canada, a "resilient democracy", we do have some laws that rightfully limit speech. Making up statements like what you said doesn't mean anything, you just think that's the truth because you heard it somewhere else. It doesn't make it the truth. Democracy in no way requires unlimited free speech. In fact, we see what happens when you allow that.

Possibly a dispute over a parking spot.
