Is there a GoT season to stop at, to avoid the crushing disappointment? I know people say 8 was bad, but is there an earlier point to just jump ship at? I've still yet to watch it, but really want to because of how much people rave about the earlier seasons.
Binged “The Paper” and it’s actually quite decent minus the horrible Esmeralda character… it almost ruins the show. Apparently it got picked up for a second season though… hoping they write her out… but other than that it’s fairly well done, unlike that awful Australian office spin off.

Why is it only on Peacock, and not the regular NBC network?

Usually money. They don't pay as much for a streaming-only show as they do for a broadcast show. This was a sticking point during the SAG strike a couple of years ago because after COVID shut down a bunch of productions, the networks decided to broadcast some shows that had originally been made for streaming only (CBS did this with Star Trek: Discovery, for example), but the people who worked on those shows didn't get any additional compensation.
Also, for the showrunners, they likely have more freedom if they're making a show for streaming rather than broadcast because they don't need to fit into the 22 minute time frame (30 minutes with commercial breaks) or structure the show to have commercial breaks at specific intervals.
Showcase has the rights to The Paper in Canada and they're showing 2 episodes per week for the next few weeks. Last week, the first 2 episodes aired and they had runtimes well over 30 minutes each.

So... we're all on the same page about where Peacemaker season 2 is going... right?

The good dimension Chris is running to is essentially white supremacist America and is going to make any MAGAs who are watching it super upset because of the obvious parallels, kind of like when they figured out they were the bad guys in The Boys.

The 77th Emmy Awards will air live this Sunday, September 14, and a star-studded line-up of presenters has been confirmed. Among them are Sydney Sweeney, Stephen Colbert, and Tina Fey, who will take the stage at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater to help celebrate television’s biggest night.
The event will be broadcast live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, and will also stream on Paramount+ for select subscribers. Comedian Nate Bargatze will serve as the evening’s host.
Someone at Netflix must have watched Yellowstone and said, “we need that.” Enter Territory.
I made it to the end of episode three thinking it was just a six-episode limited series, only to read online it was actually cancelled. So if you’re planning to watch, fair warning.
As for whether it’s worth it, it’s fine. A cattle family in Australia going up against big corporate interests, financial crunches, family drama, Aboriginal land rights, and an existential battle for their very survival--basically Yellowstone, but in Australia. And it has the benefit of not being Yellowstone or being related to the franchise in any way.
It stars Longmire-guy and Tess who died a couple episodes into The Last of Us. If Netflix can’t be bothered to not cancel just about every show I watch, I can’t be bothered to look up the actors' names.
