Sen. Bill Cassidy: "Do you agree with me that President Trump deserves a Nobel Prize for Operation Warp Speed?"
RFK: "Absolutely."
Sen. Bill Cassidy: "But you just told Sen. Bennet that the Covid vaccine killed more people than Covid?"
The#Department of Justice's acting deputy chief was caught on a hidden camera saying that the government will "redact every Republican" from an Epstein#client list.
Why it matters:#The O'Keefe Media Group, a far-right media organization, secretly recorded acting deputy Joseph Schnitt's comments and#published them#on Wednesday.

Isn’t this basically the premise of non-universal health care though? That people shouldn’t have to pay into medical care for other people that refuse to prevent some health issues?
Like in your example, why stop with vaccine refusal? How about things like smoking or obesity? Those are things that cause many many deaths with clearly defined science showing the links to health issues.
Probably because things like addiction and obesity are multitudes more complicated than a preventative vaccine.
Let's revist this silly comparison when I can recieve a thoroughly researched and scientifically proven injection that effectively and efficiently reduces or even eliminates those health risks with minimal adverse side effects.

Ozempic and Wegovy does a lot of what you are asking for. The data is amazing on those drugs

Sure is, and despite some of the negative side effects being be reported (specifically Ozempic, where a more careful monitoring of GP prescriptions needs to be advised), it is a positive step forward for a lot of people with these issues.
However, these drugs are not a preventative measure to a communicable disease. They are treatments of existing issues within people with highly varying outcomes.

Because smoking and overeating are often caused by addiction and mental health issues, and don't really affect others. Every person who refuses a vaccine has a societal impact that affects not only themselves, but also the vulnerable. One person can inflict healthcare costs on a multitude of others, along with illness causing lost employment hours and efficiencies. It has a far greater multiplying affect than a dude smoking in an alley or eating too many cheeseburgers. Being fat isn't contagious.

And yet that same senator voted to confirm RFK for HHS secretary, while all of his anti-vax stances were already public knowledge. This is nothing more than performance theater

Just wait for when Eli Lilly gets FDA approval and releases retatrutide in 2026, it'll make semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) and tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) look like diet and exercise, and they (especially tirzepatide) are ridiculously effective.
The fact that our national pharmacare program has zero coverage for semaglutide or tirzepatide yet is disappointing. The reduction in costs to our healthcare system would easily make up for covering the cost of the medications.
